Position: Credentialing Specialist 1
Address: Remote in Austin TX
Pay: $18/hr.
Hours: M-F 8:00 AM – 5 PM
Contract Type – Contract to possible hire
Vaccine Requirement – Remote, vax not required unless converted to FTE

Position Purpose:

• The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for credentialing individual, facility and/or ancillary medical/surgical providers to ensure all credentialing standards and internal requirements are met and maintained.

Responsibilities:

• Verifies and maintains all network, individual and/or facility/ancillary providers’ information.
• Monitors disciplinary actions, and follows up accordingly.
• Corresponds with licensing board, hospitals, certification agencies, training programs and medical groups to resolve any issues.
• Ensures and maintains overall accuracy of credentialing database. Gathers data, builds/runs reports, and sends out updates.

Required Skills:

• Ability to type 35 wpm;
• Utilize multiple systems at once;
• Data interpretation.
• 1 + years Credentialing experience within a health plan setting

Looking for experience with:

• Primary Source Verification,
• NCQA, Board Certification Verification,
• Medical Malpractice,
• Credentialing Committee
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and windows-based applications.
