Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. has a job opportunity for a full time Damage Control Warehouse Logistics Specialist in Norfolk, VA.

Summary: The Damage Control Warehouse Logistics Specialist is responsible for supervising, managing, and maintaining damage control supplies and equipment by applying professional general knowledge and concepts associated with supply logistics in support of Type Commander’s assets and acquisitions. Responsible for the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures for logistical support in the stand-up of the Type Commanders Damage Control Warehouse. The logistics specialist will serve as warehouse management, coordination, and administration, in the day-to-day operations for a warehouse specializing in US Navy damage control equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Damage Control Warehouse Logistics Specialist will serve as supply subject matter expert in Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Disposition Services while managing the reutilization of military equipment and products.
  • Develops, implements, and oversees a variety of duties in connection with Packaging, Handling, Storage, and Transportation (PHS&T) process and personnel. This will include receiving, storing, ordering, and shipping of parts and equipment within Damage Control Warehouse process.
  • Will develop and implement inventory management systems for the Damage Control equipment and create procedures for issuing and maintain accountability of damage control equipage.
  • The logistics specialist will oversee parts and equipment receipt and verify incoming/outgoing deliveries.
  • Serve as the point of contact for the issuing, receiving, distributing, inventory, and disposal of all DC equipment within said facility
  • Verifies items against appropriate documentation to ensure correct items and quantities have been received; reports shortages, damaged items, and documents discrepancies.
  • Responsible for establishing warehouse management methods and procedures to organize and locate assets within the Damage Control Warehouse.
  • Coordinate with DC Warehouse Manager to ensure proper auditable documentation (i.e., DD-200s; DD-1149s, etc.) are generated, compiled, and maintained for inventory tracking purposes. Follows all Naval Supply instructions and policy.
  • Performs periodic inventories as required and assists in inventory preparation. Ensure maintenance and upkeep/cleanliness of warehouse and inventory on a daily basis.
  • Follows all safety regulations and ensures visitors are utilizing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Provide weekly inventory reports.
  • Naval correspondences as required.
  • Provide status of all incoming shipments as required.
  • Coordinate inventory spot-checks to ensure quality control.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4 years of Navy Supply Experience required.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office, Word, Notepad, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs or greater.
  • Customer Service oriented, basic knowledge of general building management and procedures, and inventory control for receiving and distributing parts.
  • H.S. Degree or G.E.D. required at minimum
  • Must have or be able to obtain an ACTIVE SECRET level security clearance.
  • Pursuant to the various government contractual requirements, all applicants must be U.S. Citizens.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Logistics Specialist rating preferred.

ADA Notations:

  • Must be able to work in an office environment. May sit for long periods of time.
  • Must also be able to work in a shipyard environment and on naval vessels.
  • Must be able to get up and down ladders and in tight spaces where required.
  • Will require PPE in certain environments (hard hat, steel toe boots, safety glasses, etc.)
