Greater Philadelphia YMCA Employment Opportunity!As our dance instructor, you will be a leader and ballet, tap, and/or jazz instructor to students,. You will conduct weekly classes during the active sessions, instruct non-recital and/or recital classes, and choreograph original pieces for the winter and spring recital performances.
What You Will Do:
- Prepare lessons and teach weekly classes as per the progressions outlined in the current curriculum syllabus.
- Teach fundamental ballet, tap, and/or jazz skills and techniques in a dance studio setting
- Develop choreography for recreational, performance and community events
- Ensure that class material promotes youth development and adheres to the YMCA’s mission.
- Maintain good communication and coordination with the Program Coordinator and respond in a timely manner to requests, communications and staff meetings.
- Experience teaching beginning, intermediate, and/or advanced levels of ballet, tap and/or jazz.
- Experience teaching youth ages 6-12 years of age and beyond
- Professional performance and/or choreographic experience

Acquire and maintain the following certifications:
- CPR/AED/O2/First Aid obtained through the American Red Cross (valid 2 years)
- Requisite OSHA online trainings (valid 1 year unless otherwise noted)
- Mandated Reporter Training (valid 5 years)
- Additional training and development specific to your role as reference in onboarding packet.
