About the Role
We are seeking a part-time Data Analyst I to support the Division of HIV Prevention for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The Data Analyst I will work as part of the High Impact Program Evaluation Projects (HIPEP). The position is fully remote but may be required to report to CDC Campuses for client meetings a few times a year.
Responsibilities

  • Support the review of existing literature, CDC, and non-CDC data resources, including HIV prevention plans, site visits, etc. to describe the existing evidence base of HIV prevention and care programs making changes in response to new federal initiatives, strategic plans, and concurrent public health emergencies/responses
  • Collect, analyze, and draft reports on health department evaluation data. The data analyst will support the development of data collection tools, coordinate data collection and conduct an analysis of both the qualitative and some quantitative data.
  • Provide consultation based on data analysis and findings to support to the project as needed.
  • Develop data dissemination resources, including presentation slides and development of informational webinars.
  • Provide logistical and training support for health department and contract staff.
  • Support meeting logistics, agenda development and note-taking.

Requirements: Required Experience and Skills

  • 1-3 years of experience leading data analytics projects
  • Experience with statistical software and excellent data communication skills.
  • Strong background in performing data analysis including statistical methods.
  • Experience validating, cleaning, and analyzing clinical data from multiple sources.
  • Experience serving as a consultant (internal or external) on analytic projects.
  • The ability to provide technical assistance to internal and external team members and stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting and/or conducting literature, program, and resource reviews and reporting findings.
  • Experience analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, with heavy emphasis on qualitative analysis.
  • Experience visualizing data and writing data analysis summary reports.

Education and Training

  • BA/BS in a related field. Master of Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology or Data Analysis preferred.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative skills.
  • Effective organization and communication skills
  • Experience working with/in the CDC.
  • Experience with NVivo, SAS, and SPSS preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. May need to lift 25 pounds regularly.
