POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst to join our technology team. As a data analyst at Threshold Brands you will play a significant role collaborating with technology and operations teams across the business to find, aggregate, and understand collected data to make informed decisions. You will support our business intelligence efforts by analyzing collected data for reporting on key performance indicators and trends while identifying related insights. Collaborating with business leaders across departments, you will help find answers and monitor change by designing a combination of dashboards, reports, and visualizations.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Provides leadership with support in collecting and analyzing select business data, including preparing reports, dashboards, visualizations, and presentations
- Uses statistical analysis and data visualization techniques designed to identify underlying issues/emerging risks, recognize trends, and relationships
- Collaborates with department managers / business areas to identify reliable sources of data to develop key risk/performance indicators (KRI/KPIs) and draw meaningful insights
- Works with data architects and software engineers to understand, collect, organize, and prepare data using various methods including automated ETL processes
- Develops maintenance plans that identify and resolve data issues that impact analysis
- Creates and prepares data models with data architects to efficiently support data analysis activities
- Designs, maintains, and regularly improves on plans to provide consistent status on data cleanliness and quality
- Analyzes and reports on key department performance measures and provides recommendations to improve monitoring and metrics activities to gather additional insights
- Creates, maintains, and updates reports, visualizations, and dashboards to meet business needs
- Performs ad-hoc analysis to identify potential issues within datasets and reports
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of experience working as a Data Analyst or in a quantitative data operations role
- Working knowledge of data management best practices and data architecture concepts
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills with a proven ability to translate analysis into meaningful insights
- Hands on experience creating reports, visualizations, and dashboards in modern BI and reporting platforms
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with an ability to develop and maintain clear documentation of key data processes
- Experience working with and managing raw disparate data
- Proficient in using spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel
