PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Data and Information Architect will join a team responsible for developing and visualizing conceptual, logical and physical data modeling. This person will have a thorough understanding of data architecture and the role it plays in the organization and how it interacts with all facets of IT Architecture, business applications and cloud services. Incumbent should have a strong understanding of data principles and data managing concepts and will work closely with IT Network Engineers as well as Data Security to achieve results. The Data and Information Architect will have management responsibilities over the Digital Document Management team and will be responsible for the receiving, storing, managing, archiving and destruction of data from the document storage system and all applications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Influence information strategy: By partnering with business unit leadership, and through the rationalization of the information value chain, the data and information architect will provide strategic recommendations to maximize the value of information assets via their creation, access, use, retention and destruction.
- Maximize value derived from data and analytics: Foster value creation using NHMB's data assets, as well as the external data ecosystem. This includes aiding value creation through envisioning data-enabled strategies, as well as enabling all forms of business outcomes through analytics, data and analytics governance, regulatory and best practices and NHMB information policy and standards.
- Enhance decision making: Recommend and implement tools such as business information models to provide the organization with a future-state view of the information landscape that is unencumbered by the specific data implementation details imposed by proprietary solutions or technologies. Assist decision design.
- Enable effective data and analytics governance: Suggest who can take what actions with what information, and under what circumstances in accordance with financial regulations and federal data privacy laws. Assist report writers and business and IT leadership in developing information governance processes and structures.
- Conduct business information modeling: Design, create and manage business information models in all their forms, including conceptual models, relational database designs, message models and others.
- Manage risk: Aid the definition of data classifications and data zoning to allow information assets to be immediately identified and proactively managed as more information becomes aligned in a digital economy.
- Enable enterprise information management: Ensure that the architecture is used as a lens and a filter to identify, prioritize and execute the data and analytic initiatives with clear line of sight to enterprise strategies and business outcomes. Work with Senior Leadership on their data analytics strategic objectives and to plan future data needs and ensure that data is being developed as a viable resource that supports the overall business strategy.
- Secure data and analytic assets: Aid in the analysis of data and analytics security requirements and solutions, and work with the VP Information Security Officer (ISO) and Chief Digital Officer (CDO) to ensure that enterprise data and analytics assets are treated as a protected assets.
- Responsible for strategic development and leading the Digital Document Management Team.
- Satisfactorily completes all required compliance training and complies with all regulations which apply within the scope of the position.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Minimum Physical Requirements
Physical surroundings are generally pleasant and comfortable with minimal exposure to injury or other hazards with moderate level of noise. Minimal physical effort required; normally seated with the freedom of movement on a regular basis; handling of light materials and supplies. May have long periods of time working at a terminal.

Desired Job Experience
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS include:
- A minimum of seven years of experience in IT, with at least two years in information system design.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skill with accuracy and attention to detail
- Hands-on experience with implementing data and analytics management programs is preferred. Experience with data modeling tools, machine learning and predictive modeling.
- Strong source to target mapping and integration experience.
- Proven experience with database programming and tools SQL, Cognos, Python, Java, Perl, SAS, JSON and CSV
- Proven experience in a development operations environment and with DevOps tracking tools.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficiency designing, testing, and implementing software development and data management processes predicated on core principles of centralization and control of data within modern, and extensible databases and technologies.
- Experience performing quantitative analysis, data mining, and presenting data to understand and convey how customers interact with products, partners and delivery channels.
- Proficiency understanding abstract technological and strategic concepts and distilling them into actionable technical projects and tasks.
- Leadership in defining business questions and problem statements to facilitate key requirements gathering.
- Ability to influence culture around data to one that is aware of the need to centralize and safeguard information and develop intentionality to enrich experiences of our members and the greater community.
CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), AWS, SAS Certified or other considered.
