Data Center Specialist-Associate
Job description
Job Summary:
Under direct supervision, responsible for performing routine tasks associated with data center operations and maintenance activities according to documented processes and procedures.
Job Duties:
- Performs entry level tasks in the maintenance of computer equipment and peripherals to include network cabling, installations and decommissions.
- Operates, monitors and controls multi-server computer environment.
- Serves as data center operator on-call contact for support, problem evaluation and notification.
- Processes and backs up data utilizing enterprise software; ensures backups run and troubleshoots issues.
- Monitors data center devices including servers, storage sub-systems and network devices.
- Notifies appropriate departmental resources for alarms and failure events.
- Performs Tier 1 ticket requests.
- Follows operational procedures to troubleshoot and resolve system problems.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education:
Associate degree in computer science or related field is required.
Will accept experience in lieu of a degree.
Experience:
One (1) year related experience is required.
