The Data Developer Position for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s IT Data Management team at the company’s Houston, Texas office reporting to the IT Supervisor.
This role will be primarily responsible for developing application code to ingest, transform, and surface business data for analytical users that is optimal, efficient, performant, and maintainable.

Apache Spark (Python / Pyspark)
Apache Kafka
Apache Airflow
Github
Jetbrains IDEs (IntelliJ IDEA, PyCharm)
Trino / Presto SQL Query engine
Oracle / PL-SQL
SAP HANA
Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
Minimum Requirements
5 or more years in ETL/software development
Strong experience in SQL scripting
Experience with Big Data Platforms such as Cloudera or Hortonworks
Experience developing and supporting Python based applications
Experience developing Apache Spark applications using Python
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven track record of success in a business facing role
Solid people skills and business partnership orientation
Ability to learn quickly, manage work independently and a team player
Sense of accountability, owning one’s work and taking pride in it; commitment to quality and delivery
Preferred Requirements
3 or more years of oil and gas industry experience
Capable of programming in both compiled and dynamic languages
Experience developing for and supporting Java based applications
Experience working with Linux operating systems
Experience with real-time data stream platforms such as Kafka and Spark Streaming
Experience as a technical lead on small to medium sized projects Competencies
