As a Data Engineer, Motus invites you to leverage your curiosity, energy, technical skills, and creativity to deepen and expand the delivery of actionable insights to Motus team members. You will work with a rapidly growing team that is focused on building new, high quality data solutions using cloud-based and open-source technologies. Position Duties:

• Work closely with other engineers and analysts in the development, testing, and deployment of high-quality data flows using cloud-based solutions
• Implement self-service SQL capabilities for data analysts by implementing DBT frameworks
• Work closely with Product, Operations, and Finance to own, maintain, and optimize data flows that power high-visibility and customizable reporting processes.
• Provide technical expertise to support data engineering processes
• Enhance Motus generated data via integration with 3rd party data sources
• Transfer data into meaningful, professional, and easy to understand formats for various audiences
• Identify areas of improvement and present innovative solutions to increase efficiency and quality of data flows
• Troubleshoot software and processes for data consistency and integrity
• Ensure all code is well structured, easy to maintain, and reuse

Desired Skills and Experience:

• 3-5 years relevant experience required
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with Python
• Advanced SQL skills and ability to write complex SQL
• Experience with automated testing preferred
• Experience with Postgres preferred
• Experience with ELT frameworks like Airflow, Argo, DBT, AWS Glue
• Experience with reporting and visualization solutions such as PowerBI, Tableau, Domo, RStudio Connect, and Metabase
• Experience with building API integrations with 3rd party vendors like SalesForce
• Fast learner – ability to pick up new skills, find and use new tools as required
• Problem solver – effective and reproducible analytical, problem solving and research skills
• Articulate, able to effectively communicate complex technologies or complex business issues
