Job Summary

The Data Scientist will lead, implement, and be responsible for clinical data analytics for Summit Pacific. The data scientist will take ownership of small and large-scale ongoing projects that will contain multiple reports, analysis, and representations. Data scientist will analyze data, reconcile, and interpret complex data from various sources maintaining data consistency and integrity. In addition, the data scientist will present complex information with recommendations in a compelling, articulate format and conducts reviews with cross functional teams including senior and executive leadership.


Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads small- and large-scale data management/analytical projects that supports Summit Pacific’s strategic objectives.
  • Designs and builds population health data set processes for purposes such as modeling, production, or mining.
  • Develops prototypes, proofs of concept, algorithms, predictive models, or custom analysis.
  • Performs and interprets population health data studies to learn more about new data sources or new uses for existing sources.
  • Strategizes to improve population health data and quality as well as predictive capabilities.
  • Collaborates with leaders to assess scope and complexity of projects, keeping supervisor apprised.
  • Conducts complex quantitative and conceptual analyses using tools such as SQL, SAS, Excel, or other analytical software.
  • Performs in-depth analysis related to population health, quality, high-risk patients, and risk adjustment.
  • Applies statistical methods to draw scientific conclusions from data.
  • Utilizes technology and social sciences to find trends and manage data.
  • Completes ad-hoc analysis to support internal stakeholders.
  • Communicate data through visualizations, stories, and high-level summaries that offer actionable insights.
  • Maintain ongoing quality control of delivered reports through self-review and peer review, ensuring reports have a high degree of credibility with all users.
  • Builds and maintains clinical dashboards for senior and executive leadership.
  • Plans and generates qualitative and quantitative reports to support strategic goals.
  • Performs special projects and other related duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Epidemiology, Public Health, or related field required.
  • Bachelor’s degree with additional training and equivalent year for year experience considered.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in data analysis.
  • Healthcare experience is strongly preferred.

This is a non-union position with an annual pay range of $94,826.33 - $139,868.83 depending on experience.
