Re-advertisement: The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE), Office of Federal Pandemic Relief Programs within the Division of Budget, Finance and Operations is seeking qualified and experienced individual to oversee the collection and submission of various federal reports associated with the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act, the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations (CRRSA) Act, the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act, the Emergency Assistance for Non-Public Schools (EANS) program, the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund (CSLFRF), and other applicable federal relief programs. Responsibilities associated with the position include collaborating across Agency offices in the development and implementation of reporting mechanisms and providing technical assistance to grantees in the submission of required reports.

This is a part-time position working approximately 29 hours per week.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Considerable knowledge of databases including queries, procedures, and functions.
  • Considerable knowledge and experience using Excel, Access, and/or SQL.
  • Experience with and ability to structure large data sets to find and disaggregate usable information.
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in analyzing and reporting education performance measures at the division, state or federal level.
  • Experience with developing and managing a data model and data management experience.
  • Demonstrate the ability to apply problem solving techniques to complex educational situations, and effectively present complex information to technical and lay audiences.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with VDOE staff, school division personnel, and the public, orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work as a team member ensuring the team succeeds with all tasks and assigned projects as directed.
  • Ability to access, prepare, analyze and present data mining findings for internal and/or external clients.
  • Ability to collaborate with team members to collect and analyze data for targeted project needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple simultaneous high profile projects on tight timelines, with the ability to delegate as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in related education field or information systems or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
