The United Mine Workers of America Health and Retirement Funds (the Funds) has an immediate opening for a Database and Application Analyst. The Funds is a group of six multiemployer plans that provide health and pension benefits primarily to retired coal miners and their eligible dependents.

The incumbent will administer database servers and database in both the development and production environments. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Administers web servers and web application in the development and production environments
  • Provides support to development staff on development tools and suites as well as program version control applications
  • Develops integration scripts and programs to import and export data from databases and support the decision support environment

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or a comparable degreed program plus one to three years of experience in large systems design and implementation using relational database technology, advanced programming tools as well as experience in working with application users and technical staff in a team environment. Experience in developing Client/Server, and Web-Based applications. Or four to six years of related work experience.

Advanced knowledge of programming languages .Net, and SQL. Experience administering Microsoft SQL Servers. Knowledge of database and web security. Thorough understanding of WEB-based architectures including Microsoft IIS. In dept knowledge of relational database, database architectures, and data loading practices. General knowledge of network systems and LAN architectures.

Positions with the UMWA Health and Retirement Funds require COVID-19 vaccination subject to applicable state and federal law.
