BigBear.ai is seeking a
Database Specialist to join our team and develop our next-generation enterprise products across the BigBear.ai portfolio. We are looking for a self-starter that has some software engineering experience and enjoys solving challenging problems. Work based in National Capital Region and may offer remote flexibility for local candidates.

- Establish database management systems, standards, requirements, guidelines and quality assurance for database deliverables, such as conceptual design and architecture, logical database, capacity planning, external data interface specification, data loading plan, data maintenance plan and security policy.
- Work with clients to translate business requirements into a logical model that will accurately support and represent the client's entity relationship and flow of data.
- Develop the appropriate database framework to convert the logical model into a physical model including the creation and maintenance of schemas containing windows, screens, tables and columns and reports that support the model; and making recommendations to maximize operating efficiency, support storage requirements and vendor software updates, enforce data governance, ensure recovery is maintained.
- Participates in quality assurance and develops test application code in client server
- Support Agile Scrum processes for development and sustainment activities
- Clearance: TS with SCI eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree and five years or more of relevant work experience or Master’s degree and three years of relevant work experience
- Experience in analyzing, designing, building, testing, deploying, operating, and maintaining solutions, capabilities, and services to meet data needs including requirements analysis and design, implementation, and maintenance of database’s related solution components
- Experience working in an Agile team environment
- Experience with applying data cleansing, transformation, and augmentation methods to measure and improve data quality
- Experience with collaboration, development tracking, and version control systems such as Confluence, Jira, and Git
- Experience in or familiarity with DevOps or DevSecOps as well as CI/CD pipelines
- Current TS/SCI clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Science / Engineering and three years or more of professional work experience in a Government environment or Master’s degree in Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Science / Engineering and one year of professional work experience in a Government environment
- Experience with developing and maintaining conceptual data models and delivering conceptual data model diagrams, logical data models, physical data models, and physical databases
- Experience orchestrating workflows to execute at predefined times including workflows that have data dependencies
- Understanding of system architecture and experience with distributed systems
