Job description
The Disability Determination Services Division (DDS) of the Virginia Department for Aging & Rehabilitative Services (DARS) provides accurate, timely, and cost-effective determinations for disability claims filed under Title II, Title XVI, and Title XIX of the Social Security Act, as amended.
DDS is seeking a DCPS Specialist to plan, manage, and ensure delivery of high-quality services through oversight of DCPS to include release implementation, staff education, system error analysis, and business process development.

Minimum Qualifications
- Proficient in the use of PC and position-related software applications.
Ability to:
- Analyze information and data, arriving at well-supported decisions or conclusions following established policies and procedures.
- Multi-task, meet multiple established deadlines, and exercise responsibilities with minimal supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent applicable education and/or training.
- Prior experience in the adjudication of disability claims filed under the Social Security Act, as amended.
Special Requirements
This has been designated a sensitive position under Va. Code § 2.2-1201.1. A fingerprint-based criminal history check will be required of the finalist candidate.
