Job Summary
The Deductions Specialist is responsible for researching and resolving customer deductions and chargebacks. This position researches and analyzes customer deductions for product shortages, damages, pricing discrepancies, customer incentives, or other deductions taken by customers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Obtains supporting documentation to research and resolve outstanding customer deductions/chargebacks.
• Works directly with customers, sales, brokers, finance, customer service, and supply chain.
• Identifies and properly assigns reason codes to customer deductions for credit reporting and performance metrics.
• Provides proof of delivery as necessary.
• Prepares chargeback notices/documentation for distribution to customer and/or credit specialist for collection.
• Defines, documents, and improves deviations resolution processes
• Trains others on processes within the department
• Checks satisfaction of internal customers through use of quality tools

Qualifications / Minimum Requirements

• Associate’s degree or equivalent in accounting or other business related field strongly preferred
• 2+ years relevant work experience strongly preferred
• Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
• Experience with Oracle sytems (i.e JD Edwards) is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Very detail-oriented
