Job Title: DEI Coordinator
Department: Youth Hockey
Reporting: Senior Manager, Hockey Development
Job Summary:
The DEI Coordinator will work within the Hockey Development department to help facilitate the growth of hockey in the community emphasizing diversity and inclusion in both youth and adult programs. They will serve as a liaison between the Arizona Coyotes and the growing DEI programming in the valley. The main function of the DEI Coordinator is to ensure the commitment of the Arizona Coyotes to promote the representation and participation of all groups and individuals into the hockey community.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Create and coordinate the DEI coach development program
- Execute DEI trainings for youth hockey programs in Arizona
- Serve as the main point of contact for programs such as ALPHA, Warriors, and the One Step Coyotes
- Support other DEI programming such as street hockey and roller hockey by being on-site working with the programs
- Enhance experience of current DEI focused programs to make them more inviting and inclusive for communities that are newer to hockey
- Work with the Marketing and PR departments to highlight youth hockey DEI programming and events
- Attend political, chamber and other community events to promote diversity and inclusion happening within youth hockey with the Arizona Coyotes
- Create and coordinate the diverse youth coach internship program by working with youth programs around the state and teaching teenage players of different backgrounds how to be volunteer coaches with programs like Little Howler’s

- Excellent communication skills: both written and verbal
- Ability to collaborate with people
- Strong work ethic and ability to work on a team
- Open-minded to new ideas and new communities
- Ability to connect with people of various backgrounds
- Willingness to consistently learn more about all communities represented in Arizona
- Ability to speak basic Spanish preferred
Education and Formal Training:
- Bachelor’s degree
Experience:
- General understanding of DEI fundamentals
- Previous experience educating youth and adult audiences regarding DEI concepts
- Personal or professional experience working with diverse or underrepresented communities
