Delivery & Receiving Specialist

Job Summary

This position assists the Deliveries and Receiving Assistant Manager with the responsibility of scheduling, accounting for, assembling and delivering more than 100 orders daily to 30 different delivery locations. The position also assists with customer service and will-call orders.

Essential Functions

On-time deliveries of CSC products

• Scheduling drivers, trucks, and loading to meet delivery deadlines
• Assembling orders from all production areas for loading
• Coordinating pickup of empty equipment that is to be returned to the CSC
• Loading trucks properly to avoid spills and damaged product

Accurate order pulling

• Pulling orders to match printed requisitions, making sure that correct item s are selected. (Note that this involves working in minus 20o F freezer to pull ice cream products, and refrigerated coolers for other s.
• Tracking and documentation of order shortages
• Accurate weighing of scaled products for delivery (such as roasts and other meats)

Complete and accurate delivery and receiving documentation

• Print daily requisitions and sort by route
• Match pulled orders to requisitions
• Assure that drivers are checking orders at point of delivery and obtaining signatures of acceptance
• Check in signed requisitions and review for problems
• Deliver requisitions to receiving office for processing
• Be trained and able to process requisitions if needed

Training and supervising

• Teaching new drivers the proper delivery methods and routes
• Teaching pullers and helping them learn product locations
• Instructing students about safety procedures and proper use of equipment

Customer service (will-call orders, delivery issues, rush orders)

Truck maintenance

• Inspecting trucks for safety and maintenance requirements
• Delivering trucks to truck shop for routine maintenance

Education/Experience

Minimum education/experience required: 1 year of Delivery or Shipping and Receiving experience

Preferred: 2 years of college course work and 2 years of Delivery or Shipping and Receiving experience and 1 year of Supervisory experience

Skills, abilities, knowledge, licenses, certifications:

• Requires BYU Truck Driver certification upon hire
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, and ability to learn Eatec procedures
• Excellent customer service and problem resolving abilities
• Above average math skills
• Process organization skills
• Teaching and training abilities
• Pass post-offer physical exam

Employee Class: 3/4 Time (28 hour)
Work Location: Provo Campus

Environment: Periodic exposure to unfavorable conditions. Need to be in variable temperatures or wet environments, etc.

Approximate Starting Salary: $15 to $19 an hour depending on qualifications and experience.
