Job Overview:

The Demand Planning and Inventory Analyst is responsible for interacting cross functionally with Production Planning, Marketing, Sales, and Finance to coordinate and oversee the collaborative development of item level forecasts resulting in driving continuous improvement in forecasting accuracy and forecasting process to positively impact out-of-stocks, on-shelf availability, product lifecycle management, and inventory obsolescence.

The successful candidate will have an elevated level of data reporting, analysis and critical thinking skills and be versed in best practice demand forecasting methods.

Additionally, this position will report on inventory throughout the product life cycle, so that inventory remains within a desired range, and serves as a bridge between the market and production planning operations.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Forecasting:

  • Drive continuous improvement in forecasting process and methodology, execute monthly KPI reporting to monitor forecast accuracy.
  • Obtain power-user status on Relex John Galt Forecasting System.
  • Work with Operations, IT, Sales, Marketing, and Finance to collaborate on demand planning and lifecycle management.
  • Collaborate on new products and special sales programs with sales department and production planning team.
  • Function as a liaison between market management (product managers) and operations
  • Maintain daily and monthly forecast processes such as new item set up, seasonal planning, adjustment of history, and manual forecast uploads.
  • Communicate and develop relationships with external customers to gain insight to their demand plans and needs.

Inventory:

  • Monitor product life cycle, introduction thru end of life.
  • Identify excess and obsolete inventory and collaborate with Sales and Product Management on plans for disposition.

Analysis and Reporting:

  • Report KPI’s to ensure performance and communicate exceptions to appropriate people.
  • Document process, policies, procedures, and test system modifications and reports as required.
  • Gather data from a variety of sources. Assess, interpret, and analyze the data in development of a thorough, accurate, and supportable demand forecast for use in production requirements and financial planning.
  • Provide ad hoc reports as requested to assist management decision.

Skills Required/Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in Economics, Statistics, Supply Chain/Operations, or related field B.S. degree from an accredited college/university. Degree in Mathematics, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years successful Forecasting, Inventory Management, or Demand Planning experience
  • Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
  • Have ability to perform in-depth data analysis and present insights in a clear manner, listen well and seeks input from others, and know how to effectively communicate and sell s/her ideas at all levels.
  • Analytic skills must include the ability to see the big picture and the demonstration of strong business intuition.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative and continually improve processes and tools.

FLSA Working conditions:

  • 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday
  • Hybrid: 3 days in office, 2 days remote
  • Schedule may fluctuate based on business needs.
  • Additional hours may be required based on business needs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
