Position Summary:

Demand Planner responsibilities include estimating future demand for products and analyzing inventory flow to build forecasting models. They use analytical, marketing, sales, and supply chain data to effectively estimate future product demands. Their principal duties are analyzing statistical data, working with sales for demand trends and updates, analyzing supply chain performance, planning inventory flow, and generating forecasting solutions.
Primary Job Duties:

  • Develop effective forecast models based on industry trends, sales data, and demand patterns.
  • Works cross functionally with all areas of the business, i.e.: Sales & Marketing, Accounting/Finance, Operations, and Procurement to solve problems and identify business improvement opportunities.
  • Analyze available data various sources to develop forecasts and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Create forecast reports and inventory KPIs’
  • Track the company’s current inventory and recommend changes to the way the company handles inventory.
  • Ensure that the company maintains proper inventory levels to meet demand without overstocking.
  • Responsible to drive forecasting and analysis for SIOP meetings

Primary Competencies:

  • Proven work experience as a Demand Planner or a similar role
  • Solid understanding of inventory management practices and procedures
  • High level Excel analysis and reporting skills
  • Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge with the ability to analyze large set of data
  • Professional, positive communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to articulate and communicate data analysis/findings to a larger team
  • Excellent negotiation and project management skills
  • Curious, proactive, critical thinker and strategist

  • Analytical with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to self-motivate and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in use of computer programs such as MS Office products and ERP (Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred)

  • Integrity must be beyond reproach
  • Understanding of key financial terms as they relate to Sourcing and Purchasing
  • Approximately 20% travel required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Three to five years’ experience in areas of sourcing, manufacturing, engineering, or supply chain.
  • Experience sourcing machined or manufactured metal components, plastics, raw material metals, or importing finished goods is preferred.
  • Lean Manufacturing Principles experience preferred.
  • Expertise in data acquisition, spreadsheet/database development and analysis.
  • Must be able to perform the physical demands of the job including:
  • Safely navigate a manufacturing environment
  • Extended periods of sitting and using computer equipment
  • Perform occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
