Job description
Job Purpose
Provides prescribed dental hygiene/periodontal services to patients in a caring and professional manner. Performs all necessary oral preventive services including screening examination, radiographs, scaling, polishing, fluoride treatments, pit and fissure sealant and sub gingival. Educate patients in the proper methods of oral hygiene and plaque control.
Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical:
- Diagnosis and treatment planning in conjunction with the dentist of routine and emergency dental problems. Reviews and updates medical and dental history.
- To provide routine comprehensive and emergency dental treatment with emphasis on preventive care according to the State’s Dental Practice Act (See Appendix A). To provide the most appropriate services, based on patient’s dental, medical and financial status. To meet productivity targets quarterly based on an average of 10-12 patients per day.
- To maintain accurate documentation of all dental services, by completion of the electronic encounter form at the end of each visit and the electronic dental record by the end of each day.
- Assurance of strict compliance with safety and infection control standards. Assurance of continuous maintenance of dental facility and equipment.
- Participation in continuing education activities to improve clinical dental skills and education and to maintain proper licensure.
- Complies with all infection control policies and procedures outlined by the organization in accordance with professional, state, and federal guidelines.
Administrative:
- Participates in assessment of dental services and quality assurance program.
- Participates in peer review process and ensures documentation and timely submission of reports.
- Maintains regular communication with the Dentist(s) and Dental Director.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $79,040.00 - $89,440.00 per year
