IMPACT ON OUR BUSINESS

As we continue to expand, our products continue to grow right along with us-in volume and complexity. That is why we are seeking a highly skilled Designer to help move us forward. As a Beall’s Retail Group Designer, you will lead the curation of specified private brand assortments for Bealls, and Bealls Outlet. You will serve as the in-house expert to research and forecast trends, build concept presentations, and create the full line assortment within a targeted time and action calendar. Because our product development efforts are currently handled by cross-functional teams, you will also be instrumental in liaising communications with graphic design teams, technical design teams, import production teams, merchant teams and key stakeholders to drive the highest quality product according to specification, delivery, and costing expectations.

EXPECTATIONS FOR SUCCESS

• Develop and manage private brand product designs and packaging from concept to in-store result while focusing on the Brand Guest identity.
• Under the direction of the Brand Manager interpret trend, color, fabric forecasts and translate into seasonal trend presentations for milestone meetings.
• Research market trends through comp shopping, runway, fashion publications, and web-based services.
• Work closely with Brand Manager & Merchants to develop and present innovative product designs reflective of each brand business strategy.
• Collaborate with sourcing team to research and develop all style details trims, and embellishments reflective of each brand financial strategies.
• Collaborate with the Trend & Fabric Specialist to develop and leverage fabrics across the Beall’s Retail Group Stores.
• Create original CAD prints, product story boards, and prepares style summary & art components of PDM style sheets.
• Clarify all design elements as needed with Technical Design and Sourcing, Fabric Specialist through components of PDM style sheets
• Maintain design production timelines.
• Maintain all design product Line sheets by development season, fiscal year, and brand. Responsible for maintaining all line sheet changes as needed.
• Support internal resource tools and maintain department color system and print library’s internal processes and procedures along with exceptional digital data management.
• Partner with Brand Manager to facilitate fast track styles to react to business needs.
• High-Level adherence to the policies and standards of the company.

KEY ATTRIBUTES

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or equivalent
• 5+ Years’ experience in Apparel Design
• Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation skills
• Strong background in Textile Design and Illustration
• Expert technical CAD drawing of garment sketches in Adobe Illustrator
• Superior technical knowledge of CAD software and hardware requirements, specifically Adobe Creative Suite, Gerber WEBPDM, and excel
• Self-starter with excellent project management and leadership skills.
• Ability to collaborate and coordinate across multiple business partners, both internal and external
• A strong sense of urgency and ability to strategize solutions under aggressive deadlines.
• Must be detail oriented and well organized
• Thrives in fast pace, dynamic environment
