Position Summary

  • The Development Operations Assistant position is a key member of the Development Operations team and requires a high level of verbal, written and communication skills as well as excellent organizational skills.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Raiser’s Edge [RE] and record managementResponsible for running accurate and timely reports as scheduled or requested

Example: Weekly Gift Report

  • Train and assist staff in matters relating with RE
  • Update constituent records information such as address, phone, email, and non-solicitor relationships
  • Electronic updates and new record additions using Meditech and ImportOMatic and other reports for the census
  • Manage End of Year Housing Site MailingsFacilitating connection between Housing Site AD and Development Staff

Requesting appropriate mailing lists from the housing sites
Preparing mailing lists
Coordinating with outside printer as needed

  • Research
  • Conduct in-house research to verify address and email changes and to avoid creation of duplicate records
  • Code researched prospects appropriately in RE
  • Add research profile information into appropriate Raiser’s Edge fields
  • Link each profile in individual RE record
  • Perform research on potential prospects as needed

Miscellaneous office support responsibilities

  • Serve as backup for Coordinator, Donor Services and Research and Database System Manager
  • Maintain matching gift and electronic fund transfer report, verifying matching gifts with MG companies as needed
  • Handle supplies and purchases for Development Office
  • Download Media attachments from RE into designated folder on the shared drive
  • Process Monthly Departmental Credit Card report ensuring that all credit card receipts have been received and coding purchases with appropriate GL Codes
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications

  • Individual must be creative, have excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • Self-motivated, highly organized
  • Capability to collect, assimilate and integrate biographical and financial information from print and electronic resources and to draw relevant conclusions from combinations of facts, opinions and strategies
  • A good understanding of search strategies, including on-line databases, electronic screening tools and subscription based research tools
  • Strong project management skills and capable of prioritizing, managing, and coordinating multiple responsibilities and projects simultaneously and efficiently
  • Deadline oriented
  • High proficiency in Word and EXCEL
  • Experience with Development information systems and databases (Raisers’ Edge preferred)
  • Interest in furthering HSL mission and it’s cultural beliefs
  • Bachelor’s degree required
