Job Description Marcus Autism Center, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is recruiting a full-time Developmental Pediatrician, with specialization in the field of autism and related developmental disabilities, to join a multidisciplinary team in our outpatient clinical service. The Developmental Pediatrician will focus on providing clinical care but will also have opportunities to support research and to provide supervision of allied clinicians and clinical training for students. As part of an interdisciplinary team, this provider contributes to medical and developmental evaluations as well as follow-up care on an outpatient basis. Marcus Autism Center is one of the largest and most comprehensive centers of clinical care for children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders in the country, with over 5,000 unique children and families served every year in a wide range of assessment and treatment programs. It is part of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, one of the largest systems of pediatric healthcare in the country.
EXPERIENCE*
- Candidates must be board certified or eligible and must demonstrate excellent qualifications in education and clinical care. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience and training.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with patients and families and as a team member
- Board Certified/Board Eligible
- Licensed to practice medicine in the state of Georgia
- Current DEA registration
- BLS certification is required
- Graduate of an accredited, four-year medical school
- Graduate of an accredited, post-graduate residency program in Pediatrics
- Meets eligibility requirements for credentialing as part of the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta professional staff
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients and families and as a team member
- Meets eligibility requirements for credentialing as part of the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Professional Staff
- Demonstrates the following skills in accomplishing job duties and responsibilities:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provides patient care which complies with the Professional Staff Bylaws, rules and regulations and Children's policies and procedures.
2. Participates in and incorporates Quality Improvement and research findings into practice.
3. Provides and/or serves as a resource for patient/family and staff education.
4. Provides an authenticated report of all services rendered and maintains accurate and complete records in an acceptable manner.
5. Completes necessary documentation and ensures communication in a timely manner to facilitate patient care and appropriate reimbursement.
6. Provides supervision as appropriate to allied health providers and/or support staff in the clinical area.
7. A commitment to a model of care centered on inter-professional and collaborative teams of service delivery.
8. Actively support research activities underway in the Division of Autism and Related Disorders.
9. Seek additional opportunities to support and lead research efforts as time and interest allow.
10. Provides direct supervision for trainees, ensuring adequate opportunities for training through teaching, patient contact, case review and research.
11. Participates in meetings/activities as required to support operations of the clinical area and the organization overall.
12. Participates in activities that enhance professional development.
