USA Clinics Group is looking for a motivated Dialysis RN Manager to join our growing national team! The Dialysis RN Manager leads a team by working with them to provide professional nursing care and coordination of nursing care and services to patients in dialysis center(s). At all times, the staff and the patient’s physician retain ultimate authority over and responsibility for each patient's care and treatment. This position is the team leader and assists staff developer with education of teammates in accordance with established policies and procedures. In addition to being the team leader, this position oversees the infection control for the center.

Requirements

  • Oversee the roll-out/set-up of Dialysis Service Line nationwide including, licensure, accreditation, staff training, supplies and regulatory compliance.
  • Plans and provides patient care for the patients in the facility in accordance with physician orders and facility policy and procedures.
  • Performs home dialysis patient care and training as needed.
  • Oversees dialysis technicians/LPNs in the performance of dialysis from start to finish, monitors patient reaction to treatment and performance of the dialysis machines and demonstrates an in-depth understanding of the mechanics of dialysis. Lead a team of dialysis care givers, at one or more facilities.
  • Analyzes patient assessments, dialysis orders, laboratory results and, discusses issues with the nephrologist. This includes obtaining patient vital signs, assessing patient’s vascular site, laboratory findings and general health.
  • Maintains skill necessary to perform surveillance on dialysis access (catheter, fistula, graft) for early signs of failure or infection; this includes (if needed and after receiving the appropriate training) the ability to perform arteriovenous access monitoring using ultrasound machine.
  • Performs other treatments and diagnostic tests such as blood sugar testing and other tests required as part of patient treatment.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of dialysis laboratory tests and dialysis medications.
  • Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of infection control and prevention of transmission of blood borne pathogens.
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform and mentor for modalities hemodialysis and PD.
  • Acts as a resource or subject matter expert for other facility personnel.
  • On-Call responsibilities as needed. Provide direct patient care and on call responsibilities as determined to maintain appropriate staffing for census.
  • Assists the Administrator in quality measures, i.e., audits, infection control compliance, accreditation preparation, etc. Fosters Quality Improvement by participating in Quality Initiatives and Meetings.
  • Participate in dialysis daily meetings, team meetings, and phone/web-based conferences as required.
  • Inform Administrator and Medical Director of all incidents, conditions, problems, counseling regarding teammates, patient care, or facilities.
  • Assists the Administrator in quality measures, i.e., audits, infection control compliance, accreditation preparation, etc.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • A.D.N degree from accredited school of nursing required; B.S.N preferred; two or three-year diploma from accredited diploma program may be substituted for nursing degree.
  • Current RN license in the state of practice required.
  • Knowledge of the Hemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis Process required
  • Experience using Great Plains accounting software preferred.
  • Minimum of one year’s clinical nursing experience required, preferably in nephrology nursing required
  • Minimum 6 months experience in providing nursing care to patients on maintenance dialysis required
  • Minimum 3 months experience providing home hemodialysis and or peritoneal dialysis required
  • Current basic EKG interpretation certification preferred
  • Current CPR certification through American Heart Association or The American Red Cross, ACLS preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Word and Outlook required; basic familiarity with MS Excel and PowerPoint preferred
  • Prior experience leading teams preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and oversee the dialysis process performed by Dialysis Technicians.
  • Demonstrated ability to assist with providing quality outcomes and tracking of metrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide treatments in a safe, therapeutic, and cost-effective manner.
