Summary: Kirkwood is looking for a Die Cutter Operator. Set up, operate and maintain a Brausse die cutter. Job schedule is Monday–Friday 11PM-7AM, additional opportunities for overtime available.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Review of job instructions and preparation of Job materials for printing, using Kirkwood’s MIS System.
· Understanding and use of data collection system.
· Responsible for setup of die-cutter; observe machine operations and monitor quality and adjust when necessary.
· Maintain general knowledge and understanding of die cutting processes and equipment; must know the proper rules such as cut, crease and perforation and their characteristics as far as thickness and hardness.
· Demonstrated understanding of how dies are made, know nicking patterns, how rubbering works, and different rubbers available to maximize efficiency in machine operation.
· Troubleshoot common issues related to downtime or quality issues.
· Equipment Maintenance (includes workspace cleanliness and organization)
· Bring unresolved or continuing problems to the attention of management/supervisor.
· Work in a manner that protects the health and safety of all employees. Follow all safety policies including the use of PPE’s, proper lifting, and handling of chemicals.
· Fast paced environment focused on quality and production.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
· Work overtime when required.
· Able to stand for prolong periods.
· Must be able to lift 40lbs.
· Working effectively with co-workers by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner
· Be able to accept directions from supervisor, management, and coworkers to improve on quality and production.
Education and/or Experience
· Minimum of two years as an operator (Preferred)
· Licensed to operate a fork truck helpful not required. Operate hand trucks and lifts.
Preferred Skills
· Computer skills
· Ability to read, write and understand English
· Mechanically inclined.
· Ability to perform basic math {addition, subtraction, multiplication, division}
