The Levy Group of Companies is expanding our operations in Butler, IN at our Butler Mill Services location. We are seeking Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanics. The Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic performs all functions pertaining to the repair and maintenance of heavy-duty off-road construction equipment.

Responsibilities
The Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic will:

• Performs pre and post operation inspections of mobile equipment
• Operates and inspects equipment to diagnose defects and malfunctions
• Uses computerized diagnostic system to identify malfunctions
• Dismantles and reassembles heavy equipment to gain access to areas of concern
• Examines part for excessive wear and determines reusability
• Repairs, replaces, cleans and lubricates parts and components as necessary
• Diagnoses and repairs hydraulic systems, electrical systems and mechanical systems
• Replaces malfunctioning subassemblies and components (e.g. transmissions, differentials and engines)
• Welds, cuts and fabricates equipment and components
• Performs preventative maintenance including, but not limited to, fluid and filter changes, oil sampling and lubrication
• Completes maintenance check list and tests repaired equipment to ensure accurate completion of repair
• Makes recommendations for equipment to be repaired by outside sources
• Requisitions parts and equipment
• Maintains records and reporting
• Provides general housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe facility
• Meets customer service requirements
• Complies with all safety regulations and policies
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor

Skills

• Knowledge of off-road, heavy equipment
• Knowledge of diesel engines and operations systems
• Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems
• Knowledge of braking systems
• Knowledge of driveline components
• Knowledge of steering mechanics and suspensions
• Mechanical skills
• Welding, cutting and fabricating skills
• Ability to manipulate tools
• Ability to operate equipment
• Ability to read and write
• Ability to understand manuals
• High school diploma or equivalent
