First Student is now hiring Diesel Technician for our shop serving Plymouth School District!

- $32 - $35 / hour starting wage based on experience and qualifications (NOT flat-rate)
- To be eligible for $35+, the candidate needs to possess 6 school bus ASEs and Class B CDL
- An additional $.15 per hour for each ASE certification you possess or obtain

- Monday-Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm or 7:00 am - 2:30 pm full-time shift schedule and consistent, year-round work

About the Diesel Technician Position
As a Diesel Technician with First Student, you will help maintain and repair a fleet of Thomas/Freightliner C2 school buses to ensure vehicle readiness & safety. Other major job duties include:
- Preventive maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual DOT maintenance inspections.
- Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repair, including brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, & transmissions.
- Ensure electronic work orders are completed accurately.
- Assist with mobile emergency services.
Diesel Mechanic Minimum Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license required; Willingness to obtain CDL while employed – We train!
- 2+ years of automotive or diesel maintenance & repair experience or technical school education
- Possess a mechanic’s tool set
- Willingness to participate in the ASE certification program. Training, testing, and bonuses are provided!
- Subject to a drug test.
