Summary/Objective: The Digital Merchandising Operations Associate will lead digital product merchandising efforts and support projects to drive growth of the web platform through our Product Information Management (PIM) platform. The role will work closely with all marketing team members which includes ecommerce, designers, email, and social media specialists to create and enrich all product information for use on our website, digital, and print catalog formats. Reporting to the Director of Digital & Web Business, you will help the digital team drive our B2B business, initiate B2C endeavors, and increase customer engagement. You will also play a key role in developing the PIM system while adhering to PIM governance standards and operating company brand guidelines This is an exciting opportunity to help build our e-commerce and digital platforms, while we re-define our digital relationship with our customers and sales team.

Essential Functions:

  • Work with internal and external partners to achieve success by implementing new item setup and ongoing maintenance of website product data ensuring integrity and accuracy of product catalogs
  • Collect, input, and maintain accurate product descriptions, images, attributes, hidden keywords, categorization, and any additional content through the content management system
  • Obtain product data for the website from various resources like vendor websites, vendor catalogs, company drives, and/or internal departments for dual purpose use, website and print catalog projects
  • Monitor new and discontinued products for website and print catalogs
  • Utilize search engine optimization principles to create, manage, and optimize product listing and product category content
  • Regularly perform thorough audits for product data accuracy and effectiveness of our website; work with cross-functional teams as needed to correct any discrepancies found
  • Browse and search daily to develop a deep understanding of the customer’s shopping experience with our products and continually seek ways to improve it; routinely scan the competitive landscape for best-in-class site merchandising and bring recommendations to the team
  • Maintain and optimize product attribution for all products ensuring findability through search and categorization to improve page content
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend solutions to enhance agility
  • Apply on-site visual marketing content when needed
  • Ensure product listings featured in monthly marketing campaigns have been optimized
  • Execute and maintain marketing promotions and sale pricing utilizing the content management system
  • Assist team in various data entry and site management tasks

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PIM experience: Experience administrating and/or configuring EnterWorks (PIM/MDM)
  • Strong data entry and problem-solving background
  • Set up, manage (add, update, remove), and optimize the full catalog of products launched on all company websites
  • Experience with requirement/test/project management solutions
  • Develop a deep understanding of the user experience
  • Able to work independently as well as within a team environment is required
  • Attention to detail
  • Comfortable using communication systems like Microsoft Teams
  • Previous experience with Project Management software a plus
  • Basic understanding of web technologies; HTML knowledge a plus
  • Regular use of digital asset management platforms
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment; has a strong sense of urgency, handles multiple priorities & meets deadlines
  • Troubleshoot issues such as content errors, data inaccuracies, broken variation pages; open tickets/manage tickets; learn to identify when to escalate an issue; follow up on open tickets daily until they are resolved
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including strong editing, grammar, and proof-reading skills
  • Good listener who can take information and develop action items from the provided brief(s)
  • Copy writing experience a plus

  • Knowledge of relevant PIM, CMS, CRM and web platforms, including familiarity of mobile device management (MDM).
  • Experience with marketing automation software, such as HubSpot and Marketo
  • Up-to-date with ecommerce trends, which drive your innovative and experimental multimedia strategies

Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical, distribution office/showroom setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and digital cameras.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is full-time position. Days and hours of work in general are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This is largely a stationary role but involves climbing stairs in many of our branch locations; however, some material management and filing is required. This would require the ability to lift light boxes and materials, set-up photographic or other promotional signs and equipment as necessary. The employee may be required to sit for long periods of time but will also be expected to do on-site/field work such as photo shoots, tradeshows, and meetings.

Travel
Some regional travel will be required @10-20%

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field
  • Ideally 3+ years of Product Information Management (PIM) or similar data management activities
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams such as Product Management, Marketing, Engineering and/or IT
  • Experience working with external entities such as data pools, sales agents, distributors or customers
