Position Description:
As Digital Procurement Representative, you will play a crucial role at Redwood Multimodal and our Digital Freight Brokerage by identifying, sourcing and developing strong business relationships with service providers to achieve maximum profitability and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain new and current strategic carrier profiles through research and networking and aligning Redwood truckload sales opportunities
- Actively engage carrier partners primarily by phone, targeting 80+ dials per day
- Confidently introduce the Redwood Digital Freight Brokerage (DFB) product to carrier prospects, profiling 20 new carriers per day
- Engage in continuous follow up to carriers, understanding what network offers work, which lanes are an ideal fit, and reinforcing the value proposition to the carrier partners
- Build understanding of macro-market conditions and how it has an impact on truckload rates and capacity
- Resolve carrier relations and accounting issues
- Provide and negotiate freight rates to motor carriers (and internal sales team as needed), ensuring maximum profitability on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly basis
- Coordinate available customer freight with available motor carrier equipment
- Consistently provide service and support to motor carriers in an effort to build the business relationship
- Maintain a file of all open truck shipments and of records of trailers in assigned areas
- Communicate with motor carriers to schedule trucks and resolve issues
- Verify all freight charges, confirm receipt of Bill of Lading, and resolve all payables discrepancies prior to final payment to motor carrier
- Monitor Bill of Lading discrepancies to ensure proper return of commodity is arranged, as necessary
- Actively seek out Redwood contract lanes, and create a dedicated capacity solution
- Research, contact, and develop new carrier relationships to leverage a portfolio of carrier networks to introduce new capacity to customer sales opportunities
- Resolve carrier relations and accounting issues

- Excellent communication, networking, negotiation and problem-solving skills

- Flexible; ability to change focus quickly to meet the demands of market conditions and/or company needs
- Logistical planning, routing, or dispatch experience a plus
