JOB SUMMARY


The Digital Technology Support Specialist will be working with Product Support, Service, and Sales representatives to provide support in the Mining, Construction, and Oil & Gas industries. This person will also understand various other Caterpillar Technology products while assisting both customers and others in the office as needed. This position will be forward-looking, spanning the entire scope of the customer’s operations, bringing customer’s existing and future needs into focus to influence long-term strategy for Technological Solutions and Equipment Management objectives. This person will serve as a trusted advisor to both internal and external customers in regards to the CAT Connect Strategy and Technological advancements. The role will utilize internal/external relationships and technological products to develop and deliver customer specific solutions that will lower customer owning & operating costs and increase customer loyalty.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Will be the technology consultant for all Wyoming Machinery Company and coordinate all WMC efforts with Cat, the sales teams, and our customers
  • Will travel to locations throughout Wyoming Machinery Company territory to assess, support, and sell mining technology options for customer’s equipment, using Caterpillar and Wyoming Machinery Company training and related materials
  • Will work with PSSRs, Caterpillar representatives and Product Support personnel to analyze and interpret data gathered to make mining technology recommendations for the customer
  • Management of internal and external projects, including scale studies, production analysis, and field follow agreements as needed
  • Will be responsible for providing customers with information, products, and services in regards to Cat Connect and Equipment Management
  • Support the MSR and PSR groups in identifying the customer’s equipment management needs and creating appropriate Equipment Management product offerings
  • Troubleshoot technology products including hardware, software, and systems
  • Coordinate efforts with service departments to install hardware and set up systems
  • Provide/facilitate support and training for both internal and external customers related to hardware, software, and applications of current and future Trimble and Cat Technology products

  • Calls may also be made on an “as needed” or emergency basis


QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITY


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to read, write and understand English
  • Must have good people skills
  • Must have excellent public speaking, presentation, and written communication skills

Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a safe driving record

PREFERRED

  • Minimum of 2 years’ Technology experience
  • Minimum of 1 years’ customer facing experience

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS


  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and carry heavy items
  • Travel required to visit customer locations
  • Ability to climb up and down on equipment
