Must possess expert knowledge in Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), and Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) requirements in addition to Residency Program Software Management systems including the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) and National Residency Matching Program (NRMP).
Candidate must be knowledgeable in all aspects of medical licensure and immigration/visa processing.
Individual should possess proven skills in program design, systems implementation, recruitment and retention and supervisory ability.
Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsible for the administrative oversight and direction for all postgraduate and
undergraduate programs sponsored by the Department of Medicine of Cooper University
Hospital (14 fellowship programs, 55 internal medicine interns and residents, and 110 3rd
and 4th year medical students).

Serves as primary liaison to UMDNJ/Robert Wood Johnson medical students and visiting
medical students as pertains to DOM student teaching programs.

Has supervisory responsibility for all DOM medical student residency and fellowship
coordinator staff and directs the daily administrative operations of the Internal Medicine,
Dermatology and Neurology Residency Programs in addition to all DOM Fellowship
Training Programs including Clinical Cardiovascular, Interventional Cardiology, Cardiology-
Electrophysiology, Hematology, Infectious Diseases, Interventional Cardiology, Critical Care
Medicine, Hospitalist Medicine, Pulmonary, Procedural Dermatology, Nephrology, Oncology,
and Rheumatology.

Responsible for the training, supervision and mentoring of all program coordinator staff
within the Department.

Work with the Department Chief and/or designee(s) in the development and accreditation of
new fellowship programs in Endocrinology and Neurology.

Director will be an active participant in departmental education leadership committees as an
advocate for the advancement of medical education and future growth of residency and
student education within the DOM at Cooper University Hospital.

Ensures compliance with all institutional GME policies and procedures as set forth by the
CHS Graduate Medical Education Office.

Works directly with the physician program directors, the Director of Education Programs
ensures that accreditation standards are met, program policies are established, and
recruitment strategies are developed and implemented to ensure that highly successful
fellowship programs are maintained.

Fosters open lines of communications among faculty, fellows, residents and students.

Negotiates all academic affiliation agreements/program letters of agreement with outside
institutions as pertains to Department of Medicine programs.

Has primary fiscal responsibility for Department of Medicine educational cost centers with
administrative review by the Department of Medicine Administrative Director and monitors and tracks
resident time for purposes of GME reimbursement through CMS.

Director also provides administrative oversight to Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs
within the Department.

Experience Required

10 or more years of progressive administrative experience in an academic healthcare setting successfully demonstrating expertise in ACGME graduate medical education requirements and residency program management.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree Required OR minimum 10yrs relevant experience, with minimum 5yrs at Manager or above level.
