Our client is a private held growing Global Beauty/Cosmetics Consumer Products [CPG] eCommerce/Retail and Manufacturer/Distributor located in the San Gabriel Valley. They are looking to add a dynamic and entrepreneurial Director of Brand Marketing for one of their major brands.

Position Summary

Our client seeks a beauty enthusiast for a dynamic opportunity as Director of Brand Marketing to own and drive all aspects of Social/Digital/Influencer Marketing for a top cosmetics corporation, supporting the companys overall strategies. Responsibilities will include social/digital brand strategy across all platforms to support brand growth and retailer initiatives, influencer relations management, public relations and event activations, and web duties, to accomplish projects from daily content creation/optimization to digital innovation, robust and always-on influencer and community management, 360 campaign execution, and efficient team leadership. The Brand Marketing Director will also be responsible for leading strategy with external agencies, crafting social/web promotions, and elevating brand presence with a highly motivated mindset on expansion and growth. The role reports to and will support theSVP of Brand Product Innovation in a fast-paced, hands-on, growing cosmetic company with an indisputable reputation and entrepreneurial spirit.

Scope of Responsibilities:
  • Strategize, organize, and execute 360 social media/digital/PR campaigns for the brand across all platforms, from small scale to extremely high exposure/production-valued initiatives; supervise and create a daily stream and schedule of creative content to post across all platforms to support product launches, promotions, retailer demands, influencer relations, and general brand initiatives.
  • Manage and administer the presentation and representation of the organization to employees, the public, customers, and shareholders, communicating and maintaining advocacy of the brand and team; plan and implement public relations programs designed to increase and elevate brand exposure and maintain favorable public image for the organization.
  • Amplify, sustain, and grow brand voice/presence/engagement across all social/digital platforms, supervising and executing multiple calendars of marketing initiatives for various campaigns throughout the year, at various tiers of budgeting, tailored to our diverse customer channels.
  • Perform a leadership role on a cross-functional social/digital/PR marketing team tasked with driving innovative and compelling content plus community engagement/retention strategies across all social/digital platforms.
  • Adaptive in-depth analysis of brand performance and engagement, assessing our competitive landscape/promotional strategies to conduct a brand SWOT analysis and response strategies.
  • Innovate new ideas for social and digital marketing and outreach, inclusive of sampling, seeding and giveaways, and creative content/campaigns to elevate brand positioning and metrics.
  • Collaborate with Retail, Creative, Product, Ecommerce, and Trade Marketing to understand brand, product, and sales to support new and existing portfolios, increase brand awareness, and optimize cross-channel marketing and support for both digital and brick and mortar retailers.
  • Manage and Track the Brand Marketing Calendar by coordinating and communicating all campaign launches, managing requests for all necessary creative, and ensuring all cross- functional responsibilities are executed according to the calendar shipment planning, retailer launch timelines in-store and online, media launch dates, PR outreach and activations, PR seeding, social platform post schedules, paid and unpaid influencer partnerships for both core line and promotional launches.
  • Manage monthly campaigns inclusive of budget tracking; supervise and write campaign briefing for content.
  • Analyze and report on campaign performance, including social media and influencer community metrics/EMV tracking.
  • Manage and oversee day-to-day social management services agreed in retainer with our consultant, including post boosting, influencer sourcing and approval, curation and maintenance of influencer lists, all associated creative needs, customer service, and contract negotiations/agreements.
  • Supervise community management to drive positive brand conversations. Ensure questions, comments and related opportunities are handled with an on-brand experience prioritizing superior customer service, 7 days a week.
  • Execute end-to-end influencer campaigns from outreach and contract negotiations to content creation, content approval, and reporting.
  • Identify emerging influencers with growing audiences that are likely to convert their audience into subscribers and develop and foster influencer relationships to generate authentic advocacy for the brand.
  • Day-to-day management of Tribe Dynamics platform to help drive influencer/EMV goals.
  • Monitor YouTube activity of key makeup industry influencers to cross-promote reviews, coordinate product requests from bloggers.
  • Stay up to date on new social media platforms/tools, best practices, and competitive activity to bring early adopter technologies and trends across our social channels.
  • Manage and oversee contractual negotiations and agreements, ensuring all are thoroughly assessed by internal counsel to ensure least possible exposure of risk and financial liability to the brand.
  • Oversee development of press materials: e.g., PR boxes for influencers and editors, press releases, press kits, and editor gifts; manage day-to-day relationship with PR agency to oversee execution of tactical plans.
  • Craft copy and messaging needs for use across social, digital, PR.
  • Ensure our PR agency garners strong press coverage on new launches and secures
placements for core new product launches as well as existing products in all relevant media categories.

  • Manage all events, including venue sourcing, production planning, payment agreements, contract negotiations and execution, catering and accommodations, coordinating with PR agency/media outlets/any associated talent, total budgeting.
  • Assist in drafting of monthly/annual reports, financial statements, financial advertising, and other stockholder materials.
  • Organize events to promote goodwill and employee morale, such as speeches, tours, exhibits, etc.
  • Track and oversee management of invoices for the Brand Marketing team with help of temporary staff onboard and approve timecards for temporary staff.
  • Perform additional tasks, duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
  • Meet cost standards by implementing cost-saving actions.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Marketing or similar discipline.
  • 5+ years of Marketing/Social/Digital experience in an agency or corporate environment.
  • FDM Color Cosmetic a strong plus.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint/Excel/Word.
  • Excellent verbal and communications skills.
