Position: Director, Content Operations - DistributionReports to: Vice President, Content Operations
Location: Hollywood, CA
Pluto TV is seeking a Director, Distribution Operations to join our Content Operations Team in West Hollywood, CA. This position will be responsible for leading all aspects of the distribution activities that support Pluto TV including Content Feeds, Content Versioning, Channel Support, and various technical workflows in alignment with Pluto TV Programming Strategies and Schedules.
The appropriate candidate will lead a team that supports both existing platforms as well as new areas of distribution as Pluto grows and reaches new consumer bases. Daily operations and new initiatives will be date motivated by nature and the ability to think strategically, act proactively and, provide innovative and scalable solutions is expected.
The ability to articulate our vision and collaborate with partners ranging from Product teams to senior leadership to get results is assumed. A background rooted in media supply chains, business to business and direct to consumer content delivery, paired with a strong technical skill are critical attributes that will drive success in this role. Responsibilities:
This is a meaningful role with a wide range of responsibilities, including:
Lead Media Distribution for Pluto TV ensuring the highest quality assets and experience can be delivered to Pluto TV users.
Define and implement quality standards for the media that is exhibited to Pluto TV users within internal consumer applications and delivered to partner environments.
Orchestrate and lead Pluto TV Content feeds to third party platforms supporting universal search and content discovery
Operationalize DRM Protocols
Interface as an Operational Lead with the Pluto TV Consumer and Distribution Product teams to support the advancement of our service and the launch of new platform opportunities
Lead technical workflows including inbound JSON and mRSS delivery specifications
Familiar with content restrictions such as COPPA compliance
Adopt quality of service monitoring tools for ongoing operational use (NPAW)
Lead issue tracing and collaborate with Pluto TV NOC and Customer Support team to address live media issues
Leverage Data and Insights to deliver iterative operational improvement
Define and author procedural guides and training materials
Define and lead a set of operational performance KPI’s Qualities / Experience We’re Seeking
We believe the right individual will have the following skills and experience in order to be successful in this role:
7+ years’ experience in a professional setting for new media, audio, video and/or interactive consumer entertainment products, preferably in a video delivery environment.
Knowledge of current OTT trends in technology and products
Excellent interpersonal skills
Experience in leading, developing and managing a team
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical and operational problems
Experience in leading the curation of a streaming media platform
Knowledge of common digital asset formats – Video, Audio, Captions, Images & Metadata with an emphasis on Video HD and 4K/UHD HDR
Knowledge of video specifications, analysis tools and encoding technologies
Knowledge of different MAM / CMS products and systems
Knowledge of FCC Content Accessibility rules and regulations for Closed Captioning and Audio Descriptions on OTT platforms
Knowledge of common constant security practices and DRM Encryption technologies
Knowledge and understanding of various ingestion methods, such as, but not limited to: FTP; S3; JSON; XML and MRSS Feeds
BA degree in TV/Film production, Engineering or related field preferred.
Proficient with Atlassian Products, Confluence and JIRA
Proficient with both Mac and PC platforms
Proficient with administrative software applications: MS Office and GSuite

Hiring Salary Range: $110,000.00 - 140,000.00
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
