Job Title: DIRECTOR, DISTRIBUTION CENTER

JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE

The Director, Distribution Center provide management, leadership, and direction to your entire team that drives overall operational execution and total DC results. Lead your direct reports in a way that teaches them to be great managers of others. Act with integrity and business maturity, build trust; motivate others and is seen as a champion of change. Drive results by developing and executing short term action plans and long-term strategies. Consistently manages and measures work; drives company initiatives and ensure maximum productivity, profitability, and compliance with company policies and procedures. Your DC success comes from your belief that everything we do is for the customer, both internal and external.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to the Senior Vice President of Supply Chain. Supervises the total DC with direct supervision of the Operations
Manager(s), Receiving Manager(s), Shipping Manager(s), and Production Manager(s) across all shifts. Works closely with the Transportation and Planning and Allocation departments, as well as business partners including Human
Resources, Company Executives, and Store Support Center personnel, Merchants, to drive results, increase levels of service to Stores, and provide a great place to work.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sets hiring/staffing goals needed to support business needs, sources candidates for all management positions.
  • Models all behaviors to foster a culture that ensures the internal and external customers are the focus.
  • Monitors, maintains, and follows company policy and procedures.
  • Ensures the cleanliness and maintenance of the DC.
  • Ensures a safe work environment for all team members in accordance with all OSHA standards and regulations.
  • Works closely with all other business partners in an effort to continuously improve the distribution process, minimize risk; improve and prevent loss.
  • Gains business insights, develops strategies, and allocates resources to drive and deliver results.
  • Makes strategic business decisions by creating long term and short-term planning strategies ensuring alignment with the company.
  • Manages payroll continually, allocates resources needed to support business needs in conjunction with department managers.
  • Leads effective talent selection, training, coaching, motivating, and recognition.
  • Models an open-door policy that fosters an environment of open communication.
  • Stimulates growth in self and others through coaching, training, and developmental conversations with direct reports.
  • Motivates others through recognition as well as understanding the diversity of their team.
  • Builds succession plan with a talent pipeline.
  • Writes and delivers mid-year, individual developmental plans, and annual reviews for management team.
  • Identifies key people issues to improve turnover results.
  • Provides support to direct reports in performance management cycle, up to termination.
  • Assesses individual managers’ performance and delivers mid-year and yearly performance reviews.
  • Performs all DC terminations, with assistance from HR as needed.
  • Retains great management and crew members.
  • Manages and measures progress of the team.
  • Actively walks departments with each manager and collaborates on any opportunities and celebrates all successes.
  • Partners with management team to develop any needed action plans that arise from department walks.
  • Accountable for compliance of policy and procedures; audit requirements.
  • Accountable for production and efficiency of the DC.
  • Manages and measures progress and results against deadlines and targets.
  • Ensures best practices are followed to drive maximum productivity.
  • Ensures time and attendance is managed by each department manager, accurately and responsibly.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • BA or BS degree, or equivalent experience, required
  • Previous Distribution Facility Management experience required (5+years)

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, lift moderate weight (up to 50 lbs.)
  • Ability to work overtime when necessary

The DC Director supervises the total DC with direct supervision of the Operations Manager(s), Receiving Manager(s),
Shipping Manager(s), and Production Manager(s) across all shifts.

Pay: $115,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
