Position Summary

Part of the eOne Family & Brands North American office based in New York City, the Contractor, Entertainment Brand Marketing Director, will develop and drive the entertainment brand marketing strategies for a preschool brand within Hasbro’s entertainment brands portfolio and oversee the activation of plans in North America. This role will focus on ensuring the successful launch of a new preschool content series, working in tandem with key members of the North American Entertainment Brand Marketing team, with our broadcast and platform partners and across lines of business at Hasbro and eOne. The term is for 6 months, with an option for extensions in 3-month increments that would need to be vetted and approved by contractor and business organization.

Salary range for this position is $140-160k and will be based within our NY office on a hybrid basis. We will also consider candidates based out of LA that can get to our LA offices.


Key Responsibilities

Ownership of entertainment brand marketing strategies for launch including strategy, planning and execution within North America for preschool brand and potential to assist with strategies and marketing tactics on other brands within the team’s remit. Responsible for overseeing the execution of plans in partnership with the Global Brand, Toys & Games, Content Sales, Digital Gaming, YouTube & Social, while keeping Consumer Products, Location Based Experiences, Promotions, Legal and Finance up to speed on all plans ensuring local marketing vision aligns with the wider global strategy for the Franchise(s).


  • Forward plan marketing strategy for key preschool series launch, picking up where it is already in-progress, and build out for maximum success, working with SVP, Entertainment Brand Marketing, Manager, Entertainment Brand Marketing, other key members of the EBM team in concert with the Global Brand team.
  • Assess and help refine PR strategy for launch and sustained series success, working with retained PR agency and internal PR team members.
  • Assess outside agencies for media, creative and other tactics, and work within allocated budget to hire, onboard, plan and execute their support for the series across relevant platforms.
  • Learn and understand all elements of the series Brand/IP for accurate representation and to inform strategy from big picture thinking through to details on creative and copy.
  • Be the voice for marketing the series across the business in both North America and globally, as US will lead in content strategy and marketing, informing other territories as the series rolls out across the world.
  • Digest and be a knowledge expert on existing and new insights around the content and target audience.
  • Be a leader, mentor, and teammate to (1) Manager on the Entertainment Brand Marketing team that will also drive and support this series launch.
  • Draft, refine and verbally present best-in-class marketing materials and overviews to keep the business updated on all aspects of the series launch while in development.
  • Collaborate with and share plans with other regional Entertainment Brand Marketing leads on the series.
  • Monitor all aspects of campaign performance, keeping SVP and business leads across the company up to date.
  • Collaborate fully with, and support, the local licensing teams across CP, LBE, Publishing, Partners & Promotions to ensure that they have the latest info on the series, launch plans and marketing for their partners.
  • Collaborate and work closely with research, digital, social, YouTube, teams to support in developing marketing plans across the market, using data and research to set priorities, support plans and devise clear strategies.
  • Owning the strategic marketing relationships with all content partners (TV, SVOD, VOD, AVOD etc.), forward planning marketing strategies and campaigns, ensuring the team executes content marketing plans according to the agreed calendar.
  • Act as thought-leader and local market expert for North America, sharing new, exciting, and relevant marketing strategies and tactics with the wider team.
  • Oversee the development and continuation of brand activity trackers and marketing documents that will support the Blueprint at key retailer and partner meetings.
  • Drive the analysis and compilation of campaign results and present to wider business.
  • Full accountability of the relationships with all local agencies, constantly pushing them to ensure we are getting a strong service and return on investment.
  • Full ownership of budget for series in 2023, ensuring campaigns stay within allotment of funds and that trackers are consistently updated for Finance.


Key Competencies/Experience

  • Extensive consumer marketing experience within the entertainment industry in North America, preferably for a kids brand with full Franchise extensions across product and retail.
  • Demonstrated expertise in transforming strategy and vision into actionable, plans that deliver on and exceed goals (experience launching kids TV series a plus)
  • Significant experience of working with international teams, agencies and 3rd party partners and able to demonstrate a global sensibility while performing locally.
  • Creative strategic thinker, excellent listener and communicator who is constantly aware of the bigger picture whilst demonstrating a flexible attitude to regional approaches.
  • Strong commercial acumen, comfortable interpreting and working with financial and performance data; ROI-driven; able to think big picture while remaining close to the detail.
