Overview
:The Director of Financial Reporting & Accounting is a highly visible role within USAP’s corporate finance team. This individual will primarily be responsible for meeting objectives related to financial reporting, Workday financial systems and technical accounting. This role requires a solid foundation in U.S. GAAP (GAAP) accounting, strong analytical and communication skills, and a passion for operational excellence.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills are required to ensure strong business partnerships and collaboration with corporate partners. A successful candidate will also have an ability to thrive in an environment of rapid change; work effectively within cross-functional teams; be highly resourceful; deliver strong results; and have a passion for operational excellence.
Job Highlights
:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to):
- Develop regular monthly reporting and analysis, including monthly GAAP financial reports, and conduct ad hoc variance analysis as required.
- Oversee the monthly financial reporting function and work closely with FP&A, Revenue Cycle Management, Platform CFO’s, Shared Services and Platform Accounting teams, the Tax department and all other divisions of USAP as needed.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reports in order to assist the CFO, CAO, the Board and other Senior Executives in performing their responsibilities.
- Establish credibility throughout the organization and with Senior Management as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges.
- Perform technical accounting research and prepare analyses and accounting whitepapers as needed, including complex areas such as goodwill and intangible asset impairment assessments/testing.
- Participate in development and maintenance of the Company’s accounting policies and internal control documentation.
- Provide support to Business Development for proposed opportunities, as needed, including assisting with purchase accounting analyses.
- Participate in the development of the corporation's plans and programs as a strategic partner.
- Provide oversight on system maintenance, monitoring, business continuity, and problem resolution for the Workday financial systems environment.
- Provide support towards the implementation, upgrade, functional, and technical maintenance of Workday financial systems applications.
- Be primary point of contact with the external auditors.
- Develop and monitor internal PBC list to ensure deliverables are provided to PwC Auditors timely.
- Confer with CAO and other division leaders to coordinate and prioritize planning of year-end financial statement audit as well as communicate any audit findings.
- Regularly meet with accounting firm (weekly) during annual financial statement audit to ensure benchmarks are achieved and to respond to accounting firm needs/requests.
- Be an advisor from the financial perspective on any contracts (including leases) into which the Company may enter.
- Evaluation of the financial reporting division structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as providing individuals with professional and personal growth with emphasis on opportunities of individuals.
- Develop financial reporting and Workday systems team goals that are fully aligned with the company goals.
- Supervise and mentor staff to develop their accounting and problem-solving skills.
- Manage or participate on special projects as needed.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and five (5) financial management experience in a healthcare company; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CPA or MBA designation preferred,
- Knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting and financial concepts
- Exposure to Healthcare industry
- Proficiency Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Workiva and Workday a plus
