Summary
You will be part of the people organization supporting either Assurance’s agency business and/or Core functions. You will partner with the senior leaders of these organizations providing day to day strategic HR business consultation. As a member of the people leadership team, you will be responsible for the development and execution of a division people plan and for driving talent strategy and outcomes that will deliver business value and customer impact.

You will partner with the senior leaders, HR Managers, HR COE partners and HR People Operations to implement and execute HR strategies, based on the business strategy, focused on talent management, organizational effectiveness, diversity, equity & inclusion, culture and employee engagement. You will own the business relationship and have deep insight and understanding of the business context to architect and drive talent strategy and talent development specific to the business. You will provide HR guidance and consultative support, participate in HR annual process work and company-wide program and initiatives as needed.

Core Responsibilities

    • Serves as a trusted advisor and relationship manager for senior leadership team members; viewed as a strategic business partner, change agent, and member of your client’s leadership team
    • Responsible for understanding the needs of the business; partnering with the people leadership team and innovating to build approaches and tools
    • Owns and drives the translation of business priorities and application to people and organizational effectiveness strategies, projects and programs
    • Understands business strategies; integrate / apply Assurance-wide approaches to solve organizational needs
    • Partners with COEs to identify needs and improve or innovate processes and programs to achieve the objectives of Assurance-wide programs and initiatives
    • Point person for workforce planning, organizational design and talent management for specified client group
    • Be familiar with top talent within your client group and ensure their mobility and development
    • Advise on building and retaining a diverse workforce
    • Partner and collaborate with Employee Relations COE and HR Manager on sensitive employee matters
    • Use HR data (e.g., headcount and diversity metrics, retention analysis, work force planning, compensation forecasting and budgeting, and benchmarking) to develop relevant and effective talent strategies and solutions
    • Direct and enable senior business leaders to execute all “rhythm of the business” people processes (e.g. annual compensation process, performance management, engagement survey, etc.)
    • Establish and maintain effective relationships with key partners across the Assurance People organization; collaborate and build alignment cross-functionally
    • Lead transformative change efforts within the team and support efforts across HR and the business

    • Proven track record of building, aligning and executing a sustainable HR agenda that fuels business performance and organizational capability development.
    • Outstanding collaborator, relationship builder and bridge-builder across teams, with clients and within human resources
    • Strong leadership skills, business acumen and consulting skills. Demonstrated excellence in influencing others (often without positional authority).
    • Relevant experience in talent management, organizational effectiveness/design, change management and coaching, proven ability to develop and execute on talent strategy.
    • Strong interpersonal and intercultural communication skills, verbally and in writing.
    • Ability to identify and develop solutions with the business, COEs and organizational goals in mind; willing to articulate own point of view especially to those in more senior positions
    • Focuses on creating an environment of honesty, inclusion and respect for others; champions differing ideas and perspectives; strong track record in helping leaders build and retain diverse, inclusive teams
    • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day operational activities.

    • Professional level ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and employees.

Education and Experience

    • 10+ years of experience
    • Bachelors degree required, Masters degree or PhD in Business, Human Resources or Organizational Psychology preferred
    • SHRM or equivalent certification preferred
Note: Assurance is required by multiple state and city laws to include the salary range on position postings when hiring in those specific locals. The salary range for this position will be between $148,000 - $210,000 and may be eligible for additional bonus or commission plans + benefits. Eligibility to participate in the bonus or commission plans is subject to the rules governing those programs, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and/or organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
