Job Summary
Milwaukee Public Schools is actively recruiting qualified and experienced candidates for the Director I, Restorative Practices position.
Directs and oversees the restorative practices continuum framework in Milwaukee Public Schools that promotes and strengthens, safe and equitable working and learning environments. Collaborates with school and district-based staff to improve department and school cultures, assists in the reduction of district-wide disproportionality and increases academic achievement. Coordinates schoolwide implementation of restorative practices, provides related professional development for all stakeholders and monitors the progress of the implementation. Collaborates with local and national organizations with the explicit intention of enhancing the districts restorative practices.

Salary Range: $97,775 - 141,204 (12 month, 260 days)

Qualifications
Eligible applicants must have the following education, credentials, and experience:
- A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in education or school social work
- A valid educator or school social worker license
- An Administrator license (#5010, 5080 or 5051)
- NOTE: Applicants that do not currently hold this license or have not completed a certification program awarding this license, may still qualify for the position if they enroll in and complete a certification program awarding the #5010, 5080, or 5051 Administrators License within 2 years. Until you complete the certification program, the District will request the license on your behalf upon appointment to the position for a maximum of two years.
- Five or more years as a fully-licensed educator or school social worker in an urban environment
- Two or more years in a previous administrative role
- Documented experience creating and implementing advanced restorative practices professional development for adult learners
- Documented experience developing and implementing restorative curricula
- A valid driver's license and personal, fully-insured transportation

Responsibilities
- Directs and oversees the restorative practices continuum framework in Milwaukee Public Schools that promotes and strengthens, safe and equitable working and learning environments.
- Embeds restorative, equitable and culturally responsive practices into the content and delivery of all professional developments.
- Identifies, develops, implements and evaluates curricula for restorative practices implementation and professional developments.
- Coordinates and provides restorative practices professional development for district and school staff and district stakeholders.
- Provides support and coaching opportunities for district staff with the implementation and use of the restorative practice framework.
- Collaborates with district and school staff on restorative leadership and discipline.
- Provides guidance to restorative practices coaches and other MPS staff as it relates to regularly scheduled school implementation teams (e.g. the Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports Team, Behavior Intervention Team, Restorative Practices Team).
- Participates on school/district work teams to define, implement and support best practices effective use of restorative practices.
- Works collaboratively with a variety of staff and departments to ensure professional development supports are aligned with district and school priorities.
- Maintains and monitors professional developments provided to schools and staff.
- Prepares reports for department chiefs, the MPS Board of Directors, and the superintendent as directed.
- Oversees and monitors a department budget encompassing ESSER II and ESSER III grant funds and board and Title funds.
- Maintains all required records for the department.
- Recruits and recommends for hire a diverse group of candidates.
- Establishes goals and priorities for staff and evaluates accomplishments of employees.
- Initiates disciplinary steps when necessary.
- Works collaboratively with department personnel, MPS staff and stakeholders.
- Prepares, analyzes, and presents various reports using school and district data.
- Actively supports the MPS Strategic Plan.
- Performs routine site visits.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
