You're excited about this opportunity because you will…

• Directly manage a team of Staff Accountants responsible for the financial accounting operations related to accounts receivable, general ledger, tax, etc. of 200+ stores across 40 states as well as all account reconciliations and general account procedures.
• Help to prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness. This includes completion and review of balance sheet reconciliations.
• Be the first point of contact for sales tax auditors and states and lead the execution to support the audit, working in conjunction with accountants, FP&A team and VP of Accounting.
• Supervise and/or manage various day-to-day accounting functions.
• Review capital expenditure invoice postings to confirm proper accounting treatment and reclass items that have been misclassified to the correct accounts.
• Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, provide ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships.
• Work with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end.
• Create and maintain up to date and detailed documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
• Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested.

Desired skills and experience:

• 6+ years of accounting experience in a high-growth company, including 2+ years of Accounting department leadership experience at a multi-unit retail, F&B, restaurant, GPG or hospitality company.
• Prior experience directly managing a team of at least 5 full-time Accountants
• Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principal (GAAP), Financial systems and processes.
• Functional expertise in accounting systems (including Sage/Mas90, Hyperion, SAP, Oracle etc.) and financial modeling experience using advanced Excel functions including pivot tables, financial and statistical functions.
• Strong analytical skills and ability decipher large amount of data and deliver actionable insight.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong presentation skills.
• Understand the relationship between different costs and cost drivers and how to classify certain costs within the P&L. Ability to influence cross-functional teams to initiate cost reduction programs.
• Solid understanding of Tax and Treasury operations to ensure necessary diligence
