Director of Admissions/Marketing
Reports to:
Executive Director
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent. Experience in a Long-Term Care facility Admissions office, with some marketing experience within healthcare helpful. Must be able to travel to marketing events off campus.
Purpose:
The primary purpose is to maintain an optimal occupancy rate with the proper mix of Medicare, Medicaid, insurance and private pay. This position will process referrals both clinically and financially and ensure that documentation requirements are fulfilled, as directed. The Director of Admissions will work in concert with the Executive Director to assure the priorities for admissions into the building are promoted appropriately. Secondarily, the Director will coordinate externally with referral sources, developing and maintaining positive relationships with them.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Follow the work schedule as directed by Supervisor and as outline in PHSK established policies and procedures.
2. Respond to inquiries from potential residents, providing information about the facility, including facility tours. Recruit necessary back-up personnel for tours.
3. Interview residents/guardians/sponsors and obtain required admission information and signatures.
4. Admit and prepare identification records for residents.
5. Maintain accurate records of available beds as well as assigned rooms, and all documentation for residents.
6. Admit, transfer and discharge residents in EMR.
7. Provide residents with admission information packets.
8. Maintain accurate registries of admissions and discharges.
9. Notify all departments when new residents are due to be admitted as well as when they arrive.
10. Refer admissions problems and concerns to appropriate authority – Executive Director, Director of Nursing, Charge Nurse, or Social Services.
11. Coordinate in-home assessments with Executive Director or designee.
12. Market the facility services to visitors and potential referral sources as requested.
13. Maintain a waiting list of potential admissions.
14. Keep abreast of Medicare/Medicaid regulations.
15. Maintain daily and monthly reports.
16. Assist MDS Coordinator in scheduling resident assessments.
17. Report any known or suspected frauds to the Executive Director.
18. Attend and participate in identified workshops, seminars, etc.
19. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
10. Adhere to all Resident Rights.
21. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or designee.
Physical Requirement:
Must be able to move continuously throughout the workday. Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 5 pounds. It may be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations. There is the possibility of exposure to blood or bodily fluids or hazardous materials when dealing with residents. The majority of the workday is spent indoors with periods of sitting, standing, and walking.
