How you can make a bigger difference:
The Development Department at The Jewish Board is responsible for overseeing governance and board relations at the organization, including management of a variety of board committees. The Director of Board Relations will be responsible for ensuring that Board and committee participation is engaging and meaningful for both Trustees and non-Trustees who serve on committees; that meetings are well structured and organized, with creative content; and that program staff are well supported in their work with Board committees. The Director of Board Relations will play a key role in the onboarding, education, and engagement of Trustees, including scheduling and staffing site visits and other programming. Some responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Proactively and creatively organize programming and activities for Trustees, including site visits, educational sessions, networking opportunities, and more
  • With Chief Development Officer & Chief Executive Officer, staff the Governance/Nominating Committee
  • Oversee follow up from meetings, including project managing ongoing initiatives such as staff appreciation efforts or a holiday gift drive
  • Partner with Chief Development Officer and Director of Individual Giving to engage Trustees and non-Trustees in committee work; recruit, onboard/orient, provide ongoing stewardship, and solicitation of these audiences as appropriate
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
The Jewish Board is currently looking for talented individuals of all cultures, religions, races, and gender expressions with the following qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s Degree is required
  • At least 3 years of related experience, with knowledge of social services and development/fundraising; Experience working with senior level executive and board members
  • Must be computer savvy and have experience working with financial software programs, as well as Microsoft Offices, including Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Experience with database software like Raisers’ Edge is a plus
