Title: Director of Curriculum & Instruction


Bargaining Unit/Salary Level:
The Salary for this position is commensurate with the Agreement between the MCCS Trustees and the MEA Administrators’ Unit Level 5 ($51,318.80 - $67,041.59) with full benefit package available.


Responsibilities:

  • The Director of Curriculum & Instruction (DCI) is responsible for institutional curriculum planning/development, instructional design, and educational technology.
  • Working collaboratively with faculty, subject matter experts, and industry/educational partners, the Director’s role is to ensure that all YCCC courses meet the MCCS mission of providing a trained and educated workforce by ensuring that classes prepare students to directly enter the workforce or transfer to a four-year program.
  • The DCI will oversee online education, provide professional development in instructional design and curriculum development, support academic assessment, and implement quality assurance measurements to support a cycle of continual improvement at the College.
  • The DCI will support faculty in using the College’s learning management system (LMS), classroom technology, and other technologies that enhance instruction and advance student learning.
  • The DCI will work with the Information Technology team in the research, development, and implementation of institutional projects to advance the mission and vision of the College.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in an applicable field such as Education, Business, Information

Technology, Instructional Design, Curriculum Design, etc.


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree (completed or in-progress) in an applicable field such as Education, Business, Information Technology, Instructional Design, Curriculum Design, etc., with 7-10 years of related experience.


Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Minimum of two years of classroom instructional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working on instructional design projects.
  • Experience with Quality Matters (QM) best practices and a learning management system.
  • Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
  • Solid knowledge of course development software
  • Project management skills
  • Proven supervisory experience
  • Ability to utilize appropriate tools & resources for planning and problem solving
