POSITION DESCRIPTION
Manage train and develop highly cohesive team of supervisory, professional, and hourly employees. Develop and execute policies and procedures to ensure a continuous improvement environment measured by key performance indicators including labor and productivity metrics.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervise the activities of workers engaged in receiving, storing, testing, and shipping products or materials.
  • Plan, develop, or implement warehouse safety and security programs and activities
  • Develop and document standard and emergency operating procedures for receiving, handling, storing, shipping, or salvaging products or materials
  • Participate in setting transportation and service rates.
  • Manage overall inventory accuracy to meet company expectations.
  • Prepare and manage departmental budgets and P&L for the site.
  • Manage, coach, and develop supervisors and professional level employees
  • Confer with department heads to coordinate warehouse activities, such as production, sales, records control, or purchasing
  • Evaluate freight or inventory costs associated with transit times to ensure that costs are appropriate
  • Develop or implement plans for facility modification or expansion, such as equipment purchase or changes in space allocation or structural design.
  • Develop or implement plans for storage and distribution activities that emphasize technological solutions for sustainability, such as investment in smart or eco-friendly containers, dynamic distribution networks, warehouse renovations, or fuel-efficient fleets
  • Support and assist in corporate driving initiatives and strategies such as F&P, acquisitions, and domestic transportation.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of 10 years management experience in a distribution center environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics or related field required
COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)
  • Knowledge of ERP systems required. IFS experience preferred
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite
