Responsibilities

Director of Plant Operations directs the activities of the Plant Operations & Housekeeping Departments to ensure a safe, clean, and healthy environment for patients, staff, and guests of the facility.
  • Planning: Implements preventative maintenance program; conducts inspections & safety surveys to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulatory agencies; demonstrates knowledge of the standards relating to the plant operations area of responsibility (housekeeping, plant maintenance and safety). Defines and implements goals and objectives for continuous improvement; plans and conducts monthly meetings for training, cross training and communication. Surveys and audits conducted by regulatory and accrediting bodies reflect NO deficiencies with the plant ops department and housekeeping department.
  • Organizing: identifies trends in delivery of services and implements change to better meet the needs of both patients and staff; Coordinates the ordering, stocking and monitoring of supplies, parts and equipment; programs and policies are adequately communicated and disseminated; all reports are submitted accurately and timely. Negotiates and supervises appropriately with the various contractors/vendors of the facility; all employees have written work schedules defining their area of responsibility.
  • Communicates physical plant issues/anomalies to leadership team on a regular basis; promotes and initiates programs that benefit patients, staff or the facility; communicates department priorities clearly.
  • Adheres to applicable Human Resource Policies and Procedures , as well as applicable laws, standards, and regulations related to staff supervision and management
  • Serves as department’s fiscal manager; demonstrates the basic mathematical skills required for department’s budget management; demonstrates an understanding of FTE, overtime, and related staffing calculations; provides requested budget input to CFO in a timely and accurate manner; adheres to department’ sand hospital’s spending guidelines; adheres to department’s FTE standards; maintains an effective working relations with the CFO.
  • Supports the organizations strategic business development efforts; demonstrates behavior that reflects favorably on the hospital’s and corporations’ public image; complies with request to speak publicly or make presentation regarding the hospital’s services; participates as requested, in the development & implementation of short-term and long-term goals and objectives; demonstrates an understanding of department’s role in hospital’s mission and service delivery plan.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field preferred. Experience in plant operations and experience in health care setting preferred.
Hours of work are determined by the CEO/Managing Director according to the needs of the facility.
