Position Title: Director of Licensing and Programs

Hours: Monday-Friday, weekends as requested, 40+ hours Classification: Exempt, Salaried

Salary: Based on experience and qualifications

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Position Summary:
Under the general supervision of the CEO, the Director of Licensing & Programs is responsible for overall operations of a licensed school aged childcare. This positions primary concern is to lead a comprehensive, outcome-driven program. Program service and delivery includes overseeing a broad range of programs for BGCWRA following the Formula for Impact in the 3 Priority Outcome areas of Academic Success, Good Character and Citizenship and Healthy Lifestyles.
1. 50% Licensing Development and Management
1.1. Implements all State and Club policies; reporting to DCF all necessary information required for licensing and working with licensing representatives as requested.

1.2. Oversees all aspects of WI Shares and childcare reimbursement. 1.3. Primary Liaison for WI Shares with local, State/County office.

1.4. Ensures the completion of required reports; and prepare any required interagency reports

1.5. Implements a staff development and training program, ensuring that all staff (including full time) meet DCF, WI Shares and BGCA requirements for licensing, certification, and continuing education hours. 1.6. Provide systems and processes to ensure Program staff are successful. This includes a supportive environment, with timely feedback, with regular staff meetings as well.

2. 40% Program Development and Management

2.1. Assist in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating programs for entire organization

2.2. Oversee grant-required program activities in accordance with established standards and goals

2.3. Evaluate programs on a continual basis and ensure programs/activities are in keeping with gender and cultural diversity

2.4. Drive and support the development and maintenance of all strategic outcome-based program initiatives and partnerships

2.5. Manage finances, controlling expenditures against the budget regarding all programs delivered

2.6. Monitor program delivery and work with program staff to plan and implement improvements

2.7. Compile regular reports reflecting all activities, attendance, and participation

2.8. Establish and maintain program goals and settings that insure the health and safety of members

2.9. Manage and fulfill reporting requirements for all awarded grant funding

3. 10% Additional Duties

3.1. Volunteer and Attend Club events as assigned

3.2. All other duties as requested
Required Qualifications:

  • Four-year degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of three years’ work experience in a Licensed Child Care/School Aged Child Care facility, Boys and Girls Club or similar organization planning, and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of three years’ work experience in a program development and implementation
  • Knowledge of the Boys & Girls Club mission, objectives, policies, programs, and practices
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, direct and coordinate programs, in personnel supervision; recruitment, retention and training of staff; and budget management.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Self-started, to work with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to use independent judgment, tact, and discretion
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively under multiple deadline pressure
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of partners
  • Knowledge of PC and/or Mac computers and software including Adobe and MS Office; ability to learn new programs as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of work experience in non-profit management/supervision

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $38,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
