General Description

The Director of Marketing will be responsible for developing and executing marketing initiatives for the commercial success of oncology products. As part of this role, the marketing director will also shape the future pipeline by identifying customer needs and leveraging market insights to drive new product innovation and indications.


Key Responsibilities

  • Leads launch planning, execution, and commercialization of oncology products.
  • Act as the voice of the customer to guide marketing activities and product development decision making cross functionally
  • Develops and executes of marketing campaigns, including, development of marketing collateral, digital and social media marketing promotional campaigns, and overall media plan content to articulate the value proposition of our products
  • Drives voice of customer research to inform messaging and content creation to fuel campaigns that strengthen awareness and demand for our oncology products
  • Partners with clinical team for evidence & research needs to build evidence supporting the value proposition and marketing claims
  • Develops strategies for communications, tradeshows and events
  • Conducts qualitative and quantitative market research to understand the voice of the customer and test messages
  • Creates messaging strategies to position and differentiate our product
  • Develops and delivers sales support strategies, tools and training material to achieve revenue goals
  • Leads customer needs discovery and prioritization through various voice of customer research activities and techniques
  • Monitors and synthesizes business dynamics, market landscape changes and competitive moves to inform product decisions
  • Leads the development of product vision/strategy and its associated annual release cadence in partnership with program management, R&D, clinical, regulatory, and global/regional commercial teams
  • Builds business plan and commercialization strategy to charter new product programs in partnership with cross functional teams and present for phase gate approvals throughout product development phases
  • Defines product requirements and iterates through solutions and designs with cross functional team
  • Identifies, fosters and manages relationships with KOLs
  • Serves on product development core team to represent marketing
  • Analyzes clinical and market data to assess future messaging opportunities

Key Requirements

Education and Training: Bachelor's degree in engineering, life sciences or business discipline required, MBA preferred.

Skills and Experience: Medical device experience is a must; preferably in interventional radiology, interventional pulmonology, or oncology; Minimum of 10+ years of marketing in a medical device company, preferably with downstream/commercial and upstream marketing experience; Start-up experience preferred; Conception to commercialization experience on at least 5 medical device product development projects; Product launch experience; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written & verbal; Ability to influence at all levels in an organization, excellent collaboration, and negotiation skills; Strong analytical skills working with clinical or research data
