Essential Elements

The Director position is a highly visible role which will oversee all divisions of Biltmore Farms' marketing, branding and communications functions. This role will be focused on providing an engaging and high-quality customer experience across the entire Biltmore Farms enterprise, in both physical and digital footprints. Responsibilities include developing an overall marketing strategy, approving campaigns and measuring the return on investment of various advertising methods. This position facilitates the internal and external communications for the company through efficient public relations both proactive and reactive as necessary. The Director position will assume primary responsibility for sharing the story of Biltmore Farms' legacy, sponsorships, philanthropy and commitment to excellence. The position will manage a team of professionals and outside contractual relationships to accomplish the strategic goals.

Responsibilities:

Corporate Branding

  • Work with Executive Team and Marketing Team to define Biltmore Farms' corporate marketing aesthetic, voice, and messaging.
  • Integrate data driven analytics to optimize customer experience and perception of Biltmore Farms.
  • Advise on key communications product development for all divisions including website, video, printed, and digital collateral.

Strategic Marketing

  • Develop and oversee the communications and marketing strategy to promote Biltmore Farms' corporate brand, programs and special initiatives through public relations, media relations, digital and social media, and event publicity to a wide range of audiences, stake holders and media.
  • Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures; monitor and evaluate program effectiveness; and effect changes required for improvement.
  • Develops overall marketing strategy by aligning corporate goals, studying economic indicators; utilizing data analytics to track changes in consumer trends, population demographics, and local nuances; identifying customers and their current and future needs; and monitoring the competition.

Public Relations

  • Pursue and enhance relationships with the media, acting as a liaison between Biltmore Farms and the media. Provide official statements as necessary on behalf of President and the company as a whole
  • Manage rapid response and crisis control strategies, providing both direction and resolution
  • Provide strategic communications counsel to executive team

Supervision - Shared Services

  • Prioritize projects for the shared services marketing team.
  • Assist divisional VP's in developing feasible marketing plans for each respective division and monitor implementation
  • Guide marketing team to make unified branded marketing toolkit available to all divisions.
  • Create and manage annual budget for the Corporate Marketing Department, support creation and management of divisional budgets

Minimum Qualifications:

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to:

  • A Master's Degree in Marketing, Business, Public Relations, Communications, or another related field; AND,
  • At least seven (7) years of experience in a marketing function.

Preferred /Qualifications:

  • Highly creative and innovative with experience in identifying target audiences and designing campaigns that engage, inform, and motivate.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Wordpress, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience with or general knowledge of social media channels preferred.
  • Digital marketing knowledge and experience preferred.
  • Experience leading and managing SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and/or display advertising campaigns
  • Experience in optimizing landing pages and user funnels
  • Knowledge of website and marketing analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, NetInsight, WebTrends, SEMRush, etc.)
  • Experience in optimizing pay-per-click (PPC) campaigns on all major search engines
  • Data analytics/AI/primary market research techniques

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, supervision, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.

Physical Requirements:

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
