    Job Summary:
    The Director of North Star College is responsible for day-to-day operations, program development, and strategic visioning for the college/school. This position requires creative thinking and consistent, dedicated effort as the college grows and evolves within the District.

    Salary: Grade 7 $75,143.95 - $105,538.99 (Depending on Experience)
    Work hours: 8 hours per day
    Work year: 12 months
    Bargaining Unit: Non-Represented

    Job Qualifications
    The following are required:

    • Valid Initial, Professional, or Masters Teaching certificate and Type B administrative certificate prior to employment.
    • Master’s degree in curriculum & instruction, educational leadership, educational technology, or an education-related field.
    • Minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience.
    • Experience facilitating/coordinating professional committees or workshops within the past five years.
    • Possesses excellent interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with staff, students, and peers in the community.
    • Possesses strong project management skills with the ability to implement creative solutions.
    • Experience in serving children of varied ethnic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds.
    • Must be proficient at building high-functioning teams.
    • Outstanding written and oral communication skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work with a wide range of personnel.
    • Proficient in the use of various technologies including Google Apps, newsletter creation, website editing and management, social media management, presentations, and graphic design.
    • Working knowledge of district instructional components, such as personalized learning, PLC, Alaska State Standards, MTSS, and the instructional process.
    • Ability to successfully build and foster relationships with colleagues, administration, parents, and school communities.
    • Ability to help teachers and administrators strengthen teaching and assessment competencies.

    The following are preferred:

    • High school principal experience
    • Professional experience in a university setting
