Position Responsibilities

Reporting to the President, the inaugural Director of Sales and Marketing will lead and oversee the development and execution of clearly defined marketing strategies and lead generation strategy for all customers (Healthcare Providers - “HCP”, Consumers, etc.) and all channels (personal, non-personal, digital) that support business growth and is aligned with Metabolic’s overall direction. The Director will collaborate on the development of business plans for new and existing markets, administer and develop initiatives to increase sales and market development activities, define and execute sales pipeline strategy, partner with key stakeholders to gain consumer insights, and provide recommendations to the President for achieving the company’s overall business goals.

The Director is responsible for refining and managing the Metabolic brand and, for planning, organizing, and managing all multi-channel marketing functions to achieve company objectives of sales growth and profitability. This position works closely with the executive team, external agency Partners, distributors, Field Sales, and Product Development, and requires strong teamwork, collaboration and alignment of sales and marketing strategies across multiple stakeholders in order to understand business impact and deliver on business objectives.

Effective execution of this role requires a sophisticated, data-informed approach to sales and marketing, and a holistic, organization-wide perspective. The Director will be responsible for using and optimizing newly adopted customer relationship management (CRM) software (HubSpot) and conducting market research to reach goal attainment. The ideal candidate will have in-depth experience in integrating and launching new CRM systems in an analogous business environment.

The Director is a self-directed model for the team, able to unite internal stakeholders and external partners, achieve and exceed goals, and hold each team member accountable for the group’s success.

Specifically, the Director, Sales & Marketing will:

  • Work closely with executive team and other key stakeholders to clarify, manage and maintain the Metabolic and MethylPro brands
  • Define and execute pipeline strategy to grow business by identifying appropriate partners, developing business plans, and negotiating and structuring agreements
  • Develop and lead marketing brand plans across channels aligned with brand strategies, sales objectives, and organizational strategic imperatives
  • Monitor, analyze and report on market conditions, sales data, customer issues and competitive intelligence; use sales performance metrics, leadership experience, and industry knowledge to manage, track, and lead the sales division to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Manage digital advertising efforts and partners responsible for paid ads and SEO
  • Oversee development and implementation of HCP strategies and tactics focused on increasing awareness, activation, and recommendation within the HCP segment
  • Oversee marketing communications and lead generation related to advertising, trade shows, seminars and content targeted to HCPs
  • Define and execute marketing programs for demand creation including content creation, webinars, email and others as part of an integrated demand generation strategy
  • Identify new opportunities, set objectives, define strategies and resources needed to achieve financial and strategic goals
  • Manage agency of record, distributors, and other external partners to ensure execution of strategies and business objectives
  • Lead sales activities; develop, and submit data-informed monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts and reports
  • Optimize customer relationship management (CRM) software (HubSpot) to drive sales planning and forecasting
  • Lead sales team, including establishment of sales quotas and goals; establish training programs for the sales team, as needed; analyze sales statistics to determine sales potential and inventory requirements; and, create a strategic plan based on metrics and the preferences of customers
  • Negotiate and close agreements with large customers and partners

Within this framework, Metabolic seeks a Director, Sales & Marketing with the following attributes:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in sales and marketing leadership, including a demonstrated track record of effectively managing a team
  • Thorough knowledge of sales processes and expertise identifying growth opportunities and developing strategic plans that will result in sales and distribution gains in current markets as well as potential markets of interest
  • Extensive experience in negotiating complex customer supply contracts. Experience developing and implementing short- and long-term strategic plans. Strong problem solving, business acumen and communication skills. Ability to collaborate across functions and develop a strong network, both internally and externally.
  • Experience driving organizational brand promotion and revenue growth through innovative channels – strategic relationships, cause marketing, and the like
  • Proven track record of building strategic relationships and partnerships with HCPs
  • An innovative mindset and experience in strategy development, especially in driving and negotiating new business opportunities
  • Experience integrating and optimizing new customer relationship management (CRM) platforms, with a preference towards HubSpot
  • A proven track record of meeting or exceeding short-term and long-term goals
  • The ability to think strategically and creatively, translating abstract ideas into executable actions; experience in formulating short-, medium- and long-term operating plans
  • Solid experience in quantifying and measuring the performance of marketing and advertising strategies utilizing data-driven analysis
  • An energetic, entrepreneurial nature that combines intellectual curiosity with analytical skills
  • The ability to forge pragmatic solutions in environments characterized by ambiguity and complexity
  • A communicative and collaborative approach, demonstrated through strong written and oral skills as well as strong listening skills
  • Skilled at inspiring teams to deliver superior work and provide excellent internal and external customer service
