Support Rush's continued focus modernizing seamless cancer care at its new state-of-the art 10-story outpatient cancer center housed in the Joan and Paul Rubschlager Building and at the Rush Copley Cancer Care Center. This leader is a part techie, part workflow savant, and part program manager ensuring that all work is coordinated and seamless resulting in the most convenient and best experience and outcomes for our patients and clinicians. The ideal candidate will have IT operations experience at a National Cancer Institute (NCI) certified organization or a Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCC). They will have experience across a wide variety of disciplines including oncology, lab, pharmacy, imaging, treatment protocols, billing, research, and clinical trials - ideally within Epic. Position Highlights
Work closely with the AVP, Information Solutions and Services to provide oversight to clinical information systems and related technology.
Be accountable for the implementation, optimization, and support of clinical applications and related technology, including but not limited to Epic and other non-Epic clinical systems.
Execute Rush strategic clinical objectives related to information technology within schedule and budget.
Position Responsibilities:
Drives strategy for information solutions and services and participates in development of the broader IS strategy. Responsible for area organizational design and effectiveness.
Responsible for implementing and optimizing clinical applications and related technology.
Partners with senior leadership on planning for short and long-term strategic initiatives.
Applies best practices to the development and management of clinical information systems and facilitates strategic direction to support excellence in patient care.
Proactively monitors and resolves risks and issues.
Designs and builds an effective department that meets or exceeds customer needs.
Anticipates business needs and assists business leaders with strategic planning of IT related issues.
Manages relationships with vendors as needed.
Identifies gaps/areas of opportunity and develops action plans to address areas of concern.
Communicates clearly and efficiently with leaders and stakeholders on program updates and training.
Builds relationships with customers to determine their needs and prevent issues.
Responsible for budget management for assigned area.
Position Qualifications Include:
Bachelor's degree computer science, information systems, health care or related fields required
Two years of people management experience required
At least 10 years of Healthcare and/or Healthcare IT leadership experience required
Strong communication skills to technical and clinical audiences
Demonstrated influencing skills.
Demonstrated ability to creatively solve complex issues.
Command of common office tools (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, Visio).
